Villa With a View
Very nice place, awesome view, and really kind owners. You're on the Northeast side of the island in a suburb - everything is 10-15 minutes away. Some tips for the Americans: Don't use Google Maps to find it, they're wrong. On the road where the villa is located, take a left at the stop sign and it will be on your right past the red garage place. There's a small fridge and stove top (but no oven): so hit the grocery and buy cheese, baguettes, frozen veggies, coffee, etc. and save $$. Eating out will break the budget. The TV is all French channels so plan accordingly... There's wi-fi so Netflix streams just fine. Bring and apply mosquito repellent, the little buggers are stealthy. Bring a few extra towels of your own. The AC works great so you'll sleep fine. No gym here, so hit "Form Fitness" gym, it's awesome and an amazing drive. Best beaches I've ever seen: hit Columbier and Saline and bring the umbrella/mats provided by the owner. Note that it's not a pedestrian friendly island and it's dangerous to walk the road from the villa - you have to drive and it's harrowing...like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Designate the most skilled driver in the family the role of chauffeur. Finally, I was impressed with how hard the French speakers work to be nice to us English speakers -- return the kindness by being polite. Have fun!
