"This is a beautiful part of the country and particularly handy if you like watersports - loch is within 100 yards of the hotel. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly - lots of rooms some of which have incredible views up the loch towards Lochearnhead. Room was clean and well presented - decor is dated and basic. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The two course set dinner is on the pricier side given the lack of local alternatives but the hotel had a limited take away menu which is...

"Very clean and well presented. Excellent facilities. Whilst I give the Rural Retreat 5*'s I'd give myself less as I missed that the room was not ensuite and that breakfast (which was very good btw) was not included. I will look more closely next time. Whilst St Finans is close to interesting places, there is not much in the village itself. Wifi was not great, but that is a problem for the area rather than for any specific property."
