THE BEACH GETAWAY DREAM

The name says it all. It is a 2bedroom 2 bath condo with a loft that also sleeps two people located directly across the street from the beach . The huge windows provide one of the best views on the island. This unit was recently renovated and offers upscale accommodations with a family price.. The unit is dog friendly, pet fee depends on the type of dog. Each of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan to keep the cool sea breeze moving. The loft has two single beds. The front porch has comfortable rockers, so you can sip wine and watch the sun go down. The living room has 16 foot ceilings, with large windows facing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The sparkling pool has a covered deck and Weber charcoal grills for grilling after a long day at the beach or sightseeing.
This location allows you close access to the bike trail that spans the entire length of the island. Within walking distance to this place is waterfront dining offering great outdoor seating and live music most evenings, as well as the St. George Island Lighthouse. Just over the St. George Island Bridge is the bridge to Apalachicola which is one of Florida’s most historic coastal towns offering fresh seafood right out of the bay, fantastic art galleries, antique shops and unique nightlife.
Some of the popular pursuits on the island are swimming, walking, running, and cycling. The St. George Island State Park is located at the east end of the island.
As a fisherman, I can personally vouch for the great fishing spots. Some of the fish just waiting to be caught are: redfish, flounder, trout, and whiting.
Enjoy the world renowned 'Apalachicola' Oysters at most of the local hot spots.
St. George Island has one of the world's most stunning beaches and it is just steps from this quaint condo! Bring your friends or family and create the vacation that you have been dreaming of. Our overnight stay was excellent at this condo. It is hard to find places that allow less than a week on the island so we were grateful! We travel from Michigan and like to stay a few extra nights beyond our weekly rental so this was perfect! I would highly recommend this place. Right across from the beach.

Well appointed, decor was beachy and coordinated. Furnishings were comfortable. Kitchen had all you'll need. Clean. Beach boardwalk is exactly across the street - best location for second tier. Loved all the extra wall hooks to help organize.

Convenience at its BEST
When we arrived, the unit we were scheduled to stay in was not ready and the owner quickly accommodated and put us into a different unit with the same amenities and was easy to work with throughout. The unit had everything we needed and the convenience to the beach cannot be overstated. It was seconds from unit to the boardwalk. I will DEFINITELY come back to this unit in the summer when my children can use the pool! This was a wonderful find!

The description of the condo is not correct. He says 2 bedroom 3 bathrooms. It is 2 bedrooms, but one shower and 3 toilets. The dryer went down, not really a problem, but he had fixed it a couple times pryor and never replaced it. Will not be staying here agian.

Small but ok
Needs to change the description. The stove is weird. No storage for food except for counters and fridge. Relatively clean but your sign says you are going to charge money if you find pet hair on furniture. Well, I found pet hair on the couch obviously from another tenant. I had to do extra cleaning so I would not be charged. Hair does fly through the air. Very small place. we were cramped with 6 people. Not a bad place just small.

Location, Location, Location!
Direct view to the water from the big front porch and rocking chairs to enjoy the breeze! The condo was incredibly clean, starters of all necessities were provided which was great, and the water pressure in the shower is like nothing I have ever experienced before. There were only a couple of down points; there really is just one bathroom, I don't know why the description hasn't been updated; the shower leaks...a lot. We tried positioning the showerhead in various directions and with different amounts of water flow but the floor was always a huge puddle after showers. Lastly, the electric door lock didn't always lock and there was not a physical key to work with the deadbolts that were also on the door. We reached out to the owner and he said he would have to get someone out there but it wouldn't be until the following week. We were lucky with great neighbors but it was still a little unnerving not knowing if the door was going to lock or not. Other than those minor issues, we had an amazing week and were so grateful to have a nice place to stay on our first getaway since 2019!

The location was great! The decor was cute. My main complaint is that the description said 2 bathrooms, but it was only 1 1/2, and the one with a shower was a shared one between 2 bedrooms with a sliding door that was hard to lock and unlock, which was inconvenient since we were sharing with our married son and his wife. The other problem was that there was not any extra toilet paper; we had to buy some late the night before we checked out. We left it pretty well-stocked (same w/ laundry soap). It would have been nice to either have more towels, or more than one pod of laundry soap to have enough clean towels for our stay. I appreciated that there were plenty of dishes and pots and pans. The stove was confusing because the burner controls don't match the burners. Also, it would have been nice to have some basic seasonings, at least some salt and pepper on hand. There was a kitchen drawer that was broken and wouldn't shut. The kids enjoyed the pool in between playing at the beach. Beach towels would have been a thoughtful amenity for people like us who flew in and don't have room to pack them. The beds were ok; the pillows were very uncomfortable. The loft was perfect for the kids. Basically, it seems that the host isn't too concerned about maintainance and offering any niceties since it's such a handy location to the beach. Nevertheless, we had a great time!

Great location property not exactly as described
Property is in a great location across from the beach and the public beach access. Property is NOT a 2 bathroom as described. It has 1 small full bath with little storage space and a 1/2 bath. It is also not as big as described. Having lived in an 1100 square foot home for many years, this is not a 1300 square foot space. Also one of the bedrooms has no windows. The pets allowed designation is also misleading. In addition to the pet fee and cleaning fee, there are signs indicating that if there is pet fur on furniture, there will be another $100 fee. It’s hard to have a pet in a small space without having some fur rub off your clothes onto the furniture. This should have been disclosed in the online policies. The unit needs some updating. The windows don’t stay open, the stove is cracked and miswired. Make sure you bring everything. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper, only 1 towel per person and not even salt and pepper. There was no local information provided in the unit. That said, it was a great location and st George island is a nice vacation spot.

Thanksgiving Vacay
Overall we were satisfied with our visit. Beautiful view and beach for a cold weekend. Issues included no toilet paper, no hairdryer, lights in front bathroom did not work, pool was not heated , living area fan and light would not turn off and multiple lights out. Owner was responsive to my texts. We were only there 2 nights. It’s a great location. We enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed the location's proximity to ocean and peace and quiet of the neighborhood (hardly any street traffic). Very nice patio as well but during our stay we did not have to share it with other renters. The Host was reachable, very nice and tried to rectify problems. On the bad side, the place needed cleaning--the floors and pots and pans were dirty. A better collection of pots and pans and cooking utensils are needed. We also lacked Wi-Fi during the stay.

Relaxing and roomy
