The property was clean and convenient. Having parking was awesome and the available chairs, umbrella, towels, and cooler helped make exploring the beaches even easier. Other guests and even owners within the same complex were kind, welcoming, and willing to share information and recommendations. It really is a welcoming community. If you want a spot at the pool with a table, umbrella, and chairs you must get up there early. Do not miss the sunset.
Being walkable to two great restaurants was also nice but we wish there were more walkable (that is not a ding on this property and more is walkable depending on your desire for hills).
The residents of the island are diverse and kind coming from all over the world and willing to share in the island’s value. The service and food at all locations was second to none. There are views everywhere so take advantage. It is critical to get out and explore the island. Learn the cultural history and support local businesses outside resorts. All beaches are public even if accessible through a resort (just ask).
The one note, driving is a bit crazy with lack of clear right of way and parking on the side of the road not to mention narrow roads, potholes, and the rental car we had feeling as it if we’re going to fall apart(there are nice rental cars on the island but do your diligence in securing one).
100% must do’s
- Cecelia’s
- sheer rock private day or sunset (at least the food)
- try the rum!!! It will convert many who, like me, had limited experience with good rum
- pull off the road and take a spot on the beach (you may just find it all to yourself)
- so much more we cannot list them all but the host of this property had some great recommendations as did others here.
We also loved how easy it was to communicate with many businesses, including the owner and the property manager, via WhatsApp. It is a must for this island.
