Welcome to our newly renovated guesthouse centrally located in Historic Uptown. Includes strong Wi-Fi, 3 smart TVs, 2 fully stocked kitchens, central air, and a zen inspired covered front porch. It's an easy walk, bike, or short drive to St Pete downtown restaurants, bars, microbreweries, antique shops, museums, live entertainment and so much more. Central Ave is less than a mile and the beach is a 20-minute drive away.
The space
The space was designed to feel light, bright, and airy while including lots of fun and colorful artwork reflecting beautiful Florida. It has just been completely renovated and has lots of windows providing plenty of natural light throughout. This listing encompasses 2 separate guesthouses with separate entries and is best suited for large groups who want to be able to gather together but have separate space as well.
This is a large historic house containing 2 living spaces. The spacious 1st floor apartment has 2-bedrooms (1 king bed in each) and 1 bathroom, the 2nd floor apartment has a private entrance for the large 3-bedroom and 2 full bathrooms. This unit has 2 queen beds, a full-sized daybed, and a single trundle. The property is on a brick lined street in Historic Uptown District and will have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
All the bedrooms have very comfortable mattresses with soft 100% cotton linens, fluffy pillows, warm comforters, and blackout shades for the MOST restful sleep. and a futon style couch in the living room.
Both the 1st and 2nd floor of the main house have newly renovated granite kitchens, but the 2nd floor has a larger more open kitchen with lots of counter space. The kitchens are equipped with brand new full-sized appliances including gas range, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher (on 2nd floor of main house) as well as an oversized deep sink, toaster, K-cup coffee maker and coffee pods, pots, pans, basic cooking tools, wine opener, salt, pepper, evoo, cling wrap, foil, baggies, and paper products.
Each living room features a 65" smart TVs with Netflix. Each unit has a desk, rolling chair, and router (with an accessible ethernet port on the router on the 2nd floor) to be used as a dedicated workspace. The desk lamp has a wireless phone charging pad. Super-fast Wi-Fi throughout. There are new remote-controlled ceiling fans in the bedrooms, office, and living room. The sofas in the 2nd floor living room opens up to sleep an additional person but does not have a pullout mattress. It is more futon style and simply folds flat. It is technically a bed, but of course, the full-sized beds are far more comfortable for an adult to sleep in.
All bathrooms are newly renovated and have plenty of lighting and mirrors. The larger upstairs bathroom has a desk/vanity area with plenty of outlets, a bench and lighted makeup mirror. And there are multiple full-length mirrors to help you get ready for your day or night out.
Beach towels, sunblock, small cooler, icepack, and beach chairs are supplied, so you'll be ready to hit the beach as soon as you get here. And we've got you covered with all those little extras you may have forgotten at home including: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, qtips, cotton balls and wipes, blow dryer, first aid supplies, etc.
There is a shared laundry room in the semi fenced-in backyard beneath the rear garage which has Costco pods and fabric sheets marked "AIRBNB".
There is free street parking in the front of the house and there is usually 1 or 2 spots right in front.
The property is very close to downtown which means that yards are minimal in this neighborhood. There is a very small, fenced backyard that has a dining table for 4 and a bench. There is a couch and some seating on the covered porch. There is a small nook with a pink table and 2 chairs in the partially fenced backyard area.
Cleanliness is a priority for me, so the house is professionally cleaned, and you will see many of the guests mention how clean the place is in their reviews.
Guest access
The house is very close to downtown making additional street parking in the surrounding area a bit difficult. However, this particular street isn't too bad and there are usually a few free parking spots available on the same block. I highly recommend a scooter or bike to get around.
Other things to note
The main house is a large old house built in 1925. The walls and floors are pretty soundproof, however, taking shoes off during any late night or very early morning coming and goings would most likely be appreciated by the other guests in your party staying on the 1st floor.
Also, being this close to downtown, buildings are closer together. Occasional car doors opening, and closing may be heard. Since the bedroom windows are a bit thin and older, we included a small white noise machine in the master bedroom nightstand and foam earplugs in all the nightstands in case any of the normal neighborhood activity is a disturbance to your sleep. A few of the older windows fall back down or be a little difficult to open, but the new windows in both kitchens, all 3 bathrooms, 1st floor master bedroom, and 2nd floor office function perfectly.
We welcome well-behaved dogs under 40 lbs. 1 dog maximum per visit. If you don't 100% trust your dog in this newly renovated space, please bring along a crate or do not leave the dog unattended in the house. No dogs allowed on beds, furniture, or linens. Barking dogs will disturb the neighbors and you will be asked to leave with no refund if this is an issue.
For those with severe fragrance allergies, I want to disclose that there is a plug in air freshener in the apartment. You are welcome to unplug this while you are staying in the unit. We also use standard cleaning products which contain fragrance, and the linens are washed with standard laundry detergent and dryer sheets which also have fragrance.
This property is managed by the owner (that's me), so you can be sure the place is spotless and well loved.
