Never stayed in such a terrible place before. The dining area surfaces were stiky, tablecloths stained, dirty cutlery, no marmalade. Room was dusty with lots of unsightly half finished do it yourself jobs in the room. Bathroom also dirty and smelly.

Great value for money. Very clean and a friendly welcome from the man at reception (sorry not sure of his name). Great location, good parking and in walking distance from Sudbury high street and river walks. Knew when booking it was a fairly basic room, which was absolutely fine with us as just to get ready and sleep - very comfy bed. Great value for money!

We got a good welcome at this Hotel. Parking was available. Our room was clean and had all we needed. Continental breakfast had a variety of food and was Help Yourself and easy. The staff checked we had everything we needed for our 2nd night. We would go again

A clean room with a comfortable bed in easy walking distance of the town centre. The room was quite small and a bit cramped as was the bed but OK for one night. There are a few minor maintenance issues that could be sorted to improve the experience but nothing major. Good shower and friendly staff. I would stay again but probably upgrade to a superior room if available for a larger bed and more space. Overall good value.

Nice overnight stay in Sudbury
Really enjoyed my stay in Hill Lodge Sudbury. Friendly & approachable staff, with comfortable rooms. An excellent base to get out & about the local area.

The hotel reception was a nice lady Shirley,the room has been quite recently decorated and we had a comfortable stay,just a couple of things ...needs a toilet roll holder and the plug sockets behind the sofa and bed were hard to get to

Pleasant stay in convenient location
Pleasant accomodation in a very convenient location to walk in to Sudbury which is a thriving town with nice restaurants. Helpful staff. No cooked breakfast but staff kindly ensured gluten free products were available for continental breakfast for coeliac. Comfortable bed, tea & coffee making facilities, spacious room (superior room).

I arrived late unaware that checkin closed at 10pm and nearly missed it. The reception chap was friendly and professional, car park a little cramped but walking distance to Sudbury and the surrounding areas are close by.

Room was small, basic, kettle was very dirty they did change it when asked ( along with comment i rushed your room as u wanted early check in) one sachet coffee. Plug in sink does not work. Hardly any room in room . Cobwebs, dirty on mirror, 1/4 toilet roll dirty skirt boards. V disappointed. Breakfast .. cereal box, coffee, tea, juice, toast, croissant, that's it. V v basic my advice go to town get breakfast or do as i am book somewhere with full breakfast included the extra pennines will be worth it

I couldn't fault this hotel. Great value for money. Very comfortable room reasonable priced. Staff couldn't be more accommodating, very friendly and polite. Great advice on food recommendation too. Thank you for making us welcome.
