Yorktown is a little beyond Williamsburg. A ferry schedule is provided.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cottage. The location and scenery was wonderful. We rode the ferry to Williamsburg for dining and sight seeing. It was only a three day weekend trip but it totally revitalized us. LOVE...LOVE...LOVE this place.

On the water living!
If you like a beautiful water view, this is a wonderful place to stay! Even though the cottage is older, it is well-maintained and the owners have thought of everything needed to make your stay comfortable. The house was impressively clean too. We enjoyed every minute, even every trip across the river on the ferry! (I was concerned it would get old, but it did not.) Definitely bring water shoes of some sort for the beach as there are many shells. We saw deer several times and two eagles. It is a very peaceful location and A.C. and Linda are wonderful hosts. We hope to be back.

Family Getaway
We have visited Williamsburg on many occasions, but have never stayed on this side of the river. We enjoyed the quiet mornings and surrounding nature. The river side cottage location was so peaceful. My family greatly enjoyed the fishing and water sports. The ferry made getting to and from Williamsburg very easy and fun. It is 40-50 minutes point to point (cottage to Busch gardens) depending on if you time to ferry right and traffic. We loved visiting the small town of Smithfield! The house was well maintained, very clean, and the owners responsive! Will definitely consider staying again.

James River Relaxation
This is a cute old cottage that has obviously been well cared for over the years. It is in the perfect location for both relaxing on the beach and visiting Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Busch Gardens and Water Country. We had a great time kayaking, fishing, searching for shark teeth, swimming and watching the bald eagles and osprey. The enclosed, air conditioned porch was wonderful! On rainy days my kids enjoyed all the puzzles and Williamsburg-opoly. A.C. and Linda were so helpful - if we had any trouble they came to help within minutes! One night the grill wouldn’t light so A.C. came with a lighter - problem solved, or so we thought! He was back about 30 min later with a new grill! One word of advice - bring water shoes! We made good use of the first aid kit we found in the bathroom after the kids cut their feet on shells multiple times.

Delightful Cottage
We absolutely adored our time in this beachfront cottage. The views are stunning, with unforgettable sun rises over the river and so many beautiful birds including bald eagles to view from the deck. The little private beach was perfect with kayaks, chairs, and an umbrella there for us to use! We loved the calm water and hunting for seashells... we even caught and released a few fish which was exciting! We loved the local restaurants, and the girls were so excited to experience the ferry over to Jamestown/Williamsburg and the water park! The hosts were very communicative and the place was extremely clean with tons of amenities that made us feel right at home... right down to a stack of beach towels and a little bag to take to the beach! We hope to come back to experience this delightful cottage in Surry County VA again and again. Thank you!!!

so lovely!
This cottage has to be the CLEANEST place we have ever stayed. The cottage was secluded, quiet, and quaint. It had a lovely closed in porch with a picnic table and plenty of seating. Plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was very well equipped; I had brought some things from my kitchen and didn't need any of it. I really enjoyed the books on Surry on the mantle; they were very interesting. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN! Thank you!

Our Family Trip to Virginia
The cottage is a beautiful clean little cottage and is fully stocked with all your needs. The cottage is located just a ferry ride away from Jamestown and colonial Williamsburg. My only advice would be to really pay attention to the ferry schedule. LOL! Cuz if you miss it especially at night you'll be sitting there for a while. Our hosts were very informative when I had a few questions and although there's not many stores in Surrey which is where the cottage is located there are major grocery stores just a ferry ride and a few miles away. I highly recommend a very nice dinner at the Aberdeen Barn restaurant. The food is excellent! Our stay will be a memorable one! 😊 Thank you again to our host and hostess. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🙏

Lovely Cottage with a Million-Dollar View
We had a wonderful stay at Linda & A.C.'s cozy cottage. The house was meticulously cleaned and well-stocked. The property is quiet and remote, with an amazing view of the river. We ate our meals on the enclosed porch and collected shells on the small beach below. My family loved the ferry rides back and forth to the area attractions. The hosts were delightful, and we hope to come back soon.

Cute cabin and amazing view!
We really enjoyed our stay here. We did have the misfortune of arriving during hurricane Ian. A few hours after our arrival the power and water went off. A minute or two later our host called to let us know what was going on and that he was dropping off drinking water and water to flush the toilet so he was really paying attention to our safety and needs. The power went back on about 6 hours later. During the other mornings and evenings we sat on the deck enjoying the amazing view of the James river. The cottage was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had what we needed to cook. And the trips to Williamsburg were fun because we took the ferry back and forth. It was a very pleasant stay.

Hidden Gem
What a beautiful, peaceful spot to get away from the daily grind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this riverside cottage. It was immaculately clean and well stocked with anything you might need, right down to beach towels and morning coffee! During our stay we took time to enjoy the kayaks, we went catfishing, we found shark teeth and we admired the really cool shell fossils (that we discovered are millions of years old)! We were also fortunate enough to see lots of wildlife including blue-tailed skinks, hummingbirds, osprey, bald eagles and more. It's a very peaceful spot. On days we wanted a little more excitement, we were able to grab the ferry — just a short five minute drive away — over to Williamsburg, where we spent time at Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. On weekend nights we weren't at the park, we were able to see the fireworks across the river. In addition the the amusement park, you'll find plenty of historic sites like Williamsburg and Jamestowne on that side of the river. Lots of stuff to do. If you're looking for a great meal, be sure to visit the Surry Seafood Company, just a short drive from the cottage. The food was delicious! Thank you, Linda and A.C. for opening your beautiful home and making us feel so welcome. We had a wonderful time!

Bay View Bliss!
We just enjoyed a week’s stay at this quaint little cottage! We loved it from the moment we walked in. The house was immaculate! The view of the river from the deck is incredible. It was lovely to have coffee there in the morning while listening to the sounds of the river and all the birds. It was just a few minutes drive to the ferry, which was one of our favorite experiences of our trip. The cottage was equipped with just about everything you can think of to make your stay convenient! It was nice not to have to tote towels and linens with us. The beds were made up, which was a blessing after our nine hour drive! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful getaway to Surry and the Historic Triangle area!
