A great hotel overall with an even better fancy restaurant!! The hotel is located in a great area, close to the sea and other restaurants. It was clean and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was nice and the rooms were comfortable. The only downside was that parking had to be done on the street (and the streets are quite small) unless you want to pay extra for parking. However, it wasn’t a massive inconvenience, so overall a great place to stay!!

This is a unique property in an old building which has been restored, in our view there isn't much sound proofing between the rooms as we could hear chairs being moved in neighbouring rooms and people chatting in the corridor and an argument in reception one morning. The person that checked us in was lovely and extremely helpful, but another staff member was unhelpful when I asked for ear plugs, even suggesting that the noises were imaginary. The spiral stairs were also noisy and getting a suit case up them difficult, with the bathroom on the lower level night times were fun. Lighting was mostly with spot lights (plus 2 bedside lamps on the upper level) which were very bright, adding a floor lamp on the lower levelwould be a good idea. Apart from 2 metal chairs on the balcony the only other seating was the sofa bed which wasn't comfortable, given the room was sold as accomodating 4 people a 2 person sofa seems somewhat lacking. The kitchenette was useful but there wasn't really space to store anything we purchased without a lot of moving things around. It did have a decent selection of plates, glasses etc and even a t-towel and washing up liquid. Privacy might be an issue for a family as the glass partition between the living space and bathroom doesn't lock and is only frosted in the middle. The breakfast option is useful with hot and cold choices, there are shops near by and cafes about 10 minutes away as an alternative.

The breakfast at the facilities is excellent. Really enjoyed the perk of executive club with daily Tea and Coffee availability with nibbles. David, at the bar was very good!

The bathroom dates and needs to be refreshed. There is mildew in the shower and the furniture is damaged from the water.

Before arriving I was in email contact with Joseph, the concierge whom answered every question, arranged a van from the hotel. During the trip our companion broke her wrist and was ambulance driven to the hospital where her and her husband sat in Limbo for 4 hours. I called Joseph whom explained while healthcare was good in Malta, the state run hospital was short handed and could be a full day disaster; instead he suggested a private hospital we switched to whom triaged, xrayed, diagnosed and cast her arm in 2hours total! Joseph made a bad situation so much better. Sunny and the breakfast staff were stellar as was the maids, grounds keepers and Amy in reception whom we purchased a very fair priced upgrade for the room. We have traveled all over the world and this property was perhaps the best we had ever been. It wasn’t the fancy stone, spacious rooms, beautiful pools though they were certainly present; it was the people who made the difference.
