Stayed for two weeks as a family of 6 (grandparents and kids stayed the entire time, parents stayed for part of it) and very much enjoyed our stay. Communication with the owner was excellent.
We found a couple of things about the house to be a bit challenging for a family of 6 with children:
* The ensuite toilet isn't separated from the master bedroom by a wall. There's a half-wall, but it isn't very private so if someone is in the main bedroom, the rest of the guests have only one bathroom to use.
* The 5th and 6th person sleep on an aerobed in the living room, not the most comfortable sleeping arrangement.
The view is onto Tacoma and the industrial port, with trains and all kinds of ships passing (many a barge full of metal scrap), seals swimming around and even a coupe of orca sightings, lots of interesting things happening for the kids to look at. Great view of the July 4th fireworks!!! We enjoyed the hot tub and taking the kayaks out for a spin. It's possible to go for a short swim, but of course the water is cold.
Not sure if you can tell from the photos that the neighboring houses are very close to the property. On the plus side, in the summer this gives a really good sun/shade balance. The neighborhood is lovely and walkable to the convenience store, the playground and playfield, and the lighthouse and beach.
One last note, the coffee setup is great, but a teapot and kettle would also have been nice.
Overall, a nice place with some quirks, and we enjoyed our stay.
