Authentic Cabin Nestled in Nature on the West Shore - "Mirthwood Den"

"Mirthwood Den"

Authentic Cabin Nestled in Nature on the West Shore!

Comfortable cabin in Tahoma on Tahoe's West Shore! Located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood, you can totally relax in this 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath cabin. Cruise on one of the two bikes provided, take a hike nearby, see the view from a kayak or challenge someone's mind to one of the many board games. This cabin has a good-sized rear deck and yard with an electric grill for those summer night cook-outs, and a free-standing wood burning fireplace in a cozy living room for those chilly nights.

Inside this "Old Tahoe" style, 2-story cabin you will find all the basic amenities of a home away from home including a full kitchen w/an electric stove, double oven, countertop microwave and cookware. The breakfast bar divides the well-stocked kitchen and the dining area and brings the total seats for dining up to 8. The open living room boasts a Smart TV for your streaming entertainment powered by the home's WIFI.

Each of the two bedrooms upstairs offers both a Cal King and Twin bed but does not feel cramped in the least. Bathroom has a large vanity and standup shower. The laundry area can be found outside the bathroom next to the back door. There's plenty of fun to be had while at the cabin or venture out to the HOA accessible beach or one of Tahoe's must-see places like Chamber's Landing just a short drive away!

Perfect for an active yet economical family outing or any group looking for adventure with a serene home base!

Like 99% of homes in Tahoe, there is no A/C and as an older cabin, it can certainly be warm in the summer. Plan on using the fans provided and opening the doors to allow for a through-breeze.

Due to fire danger, this home has an Electric Grill on the back deck.

Cozy cabin on the west shore
Cozy small well maintained cabin on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. 2 good size bedrooms upstairs with King beds and most importantly the mattress were good, 1 bathroom no tub downstairs. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay.

Cozy Cottage, 10 minute walk to the lake
We loved this warm, cozy cottage as a jumping off point for hikes and views of beautiful Lake Tahoe: a 10 minute drive to Bliss State Park, 5 minutes to Sugar Pine Point State Park, and access to state park hiking trails by simply walking through the neighborhood from the house. It’s a small house, but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was evident from first observation that the owner of the cottage treats the property with great TLC. This was no sterile, generic cabin. It was full of family games, beautiful photographs of the area, books that revealed the owner as a lover of nature (trail guides, wildflower maps, and more). The house was clean and the kitchen well-supplied with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Just two “heads-ups”: the company that manages the property requires that renters purchase damage insurance, so it’s good to know that upfront. Leila at the management company was very patient and helpful with all questions. Also, the two bedrooms are upstairs, with the one bathroom downstairs. This being said, I would definitely stay here again and felt fortunate that we landed here for our getaway to the lake.

Vintage Tahoe
This cozy A-frame cabin in the woods will bring you right back to your youth, 70's and 80's kids. It's like walking into Grandma and Grandpa's cabin - and you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It has everything you need lovingly maintained "as is" since 1986, from the vintage double oven range combo to the plethora of classic board games. Anyone up for Clue? We all loved our time here, even the screen dependent children, who learned how to operate a VCR and watched the original theatrical cuts of the Star Wars Trilogy, proving that Han shot first. There is a fantastic backyard, which was great for snow play for the kids away from the crowds of the resorts and snoparks. Just gotta watch out for the Agnes Kravitz that lives next door. We were very comfortable here, and we'd definitely stay again.

I like the overall feel of the property. Very breezy and perfect yard, except one of the windows is nailed shut and the toilet flushes slow. but we like everything else ! :)
