Bakasyunan is a comfortable and relaxing resort set in the mountains near Tanay. The view from the main pool and open cafe/bar pavilion, overlooking Laguna Bay and distant mountains, is spectacular.
The rooms are set up like individual cottages, but they are connected to another room on one side. We stayed in one of the smaller (Private) cottages. The rooms are well-kept and comfortable (not luxurious), but the bathroom is very small and everything gets wet when you shower. Sink, toilet and bath are in a very small space.
The cottages and second pool area are down the hill from the main pool and cafe. It is a significant climb to go up the hill, depending on how far down you are. There are a number of activities to take part in, but the primary things most people seem to do are to swim and relax. If the resort is not crowded (e.g., no company team-building groups), it is very quiet and relaxing, but it can get a little boring after a couple of days.
There are a number of sights to see in the area, but many are quite spread out. If you don't have your own transportation, you can get everywhere you want to go by tricycle. Just request one at the front desk and one will be sent to pick you up momentarily.
The cafe is nice, with good food and friendly, relaxed service. There are a couple of cats that roam around, and they can be a bit of a nuisance, but one soon gets used to them. Overall, a stay at Bakasyunan is relaxing and rejuvenating.
