Saltwater is 2 bedroom modern property spread over three floors. It has been newly decorated and furnished. It is situated in the pretty Georgian village of Shaldon close to beaches and a river.
The property features 2 beautifully presented bedrooms on the top floor - a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom (please note bunk beds suited to under 12 years). You’ll also find a modern shower room with toilet and sink here. The first floor accommodates the lounge with a fold down dining table seating up to 4 and a flat screen TV (complete with Amazon Prime and catch up TV), well equipped kitchen and access out to a sunny courtyard where alfresco dining can be enjoyed at the 4 seater patio table. There is also a small wc on this floor.
On the ground floor you will find a useful storage room with a washing machine, picnic hamper, and cool bag. These are all for guests to use once you’ve made the 5 minute level walk to the beach. Outside the front door is a private covered parking space for one vehicle (additional free on street parking also available).
The property offers complimentary Wifi . Everything you should need for a relaxing break is here including hairdryer, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooker and washing machine.
A travel cot, high chair, baby bath/shower seat, toddler steps and potty can be provided on request.
The cottage is in a popular Seaside village and benefits from an excellent location only a short walking distance to beaches, cafes, pubs, and local shops.
Many visitors return year after year and regular events like Shaldon Water Carnival and the 10 day Regatta are always popular. The Village has a local store, beauty salon, gift shops and is even home to a small zoo - Shaldon Wildlife Trust, a unique small conservation centre housing rare breeds set in an acre of woodland garden. You’ll also find an 18 hole approach golf course next to the zoo.
In the unlikely event you run out of things to see and do in Shaldon then the Victorian Seaside resort of Teignmouth is a short ferry ride away (or you can drive there in 5 minutes). Teignmouth offers additional places to visit including the Grand Pier, a large play park and a dinosaur themed crazy golf course. There are also lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes here plus the local train station links you to nearby Newton Abbot, Torquay and Exeter and beyond.
Dartmoor and the South Hams are also within easy reach and are popular for day trips. There are numerous scenic walks nearby, please get in touch if you want any route ideas.
