"I was there to ride my motorcycle and see Nova Scotia. This location was perfect for getting around, not far from Rt 1, the highway and Trunk 8. So it was close to riding the coastline, cutting across the island or the highway to every where else. "Rustic but well appointed old farmhouse on a beautiful property, large enough to explore and even hike to the basin. Everything that you need is provided - literally. The host has all information needed to tour the area at your fingertips, comfortable rooms - with the picture window overlooking the river a favourite. Hard to pry away from that view. "This cabin met our needs for a private little spot for the night. It was fully furnished with anything/ everything you need. I was a bit let down that the cabin was part of a compound where there were other cabins that didn’t belong to the host and the area didn’t look like the photos online.. it was super quiet and a bit rustic but if you’re not looking for a five star motel, then it is a fun place to stay. "The apartment was spacious but cozy at the same time. It was well located for exploring the area on foot and also driving. We appreciated the breakfast items that were thoughtfully provided. "This was an outstanding apartment inside and out. Inside it was very spacious with high ceilings which was quiet, clean and cozy. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. The view was spectacular across the water and ever changing with the great tides and cloud formations (we also got Fall colors.) We were literally steps from the boardwalk and swim ladder to the beach. The town has exceptional colonial charm with Fort Anne just blocks away. We used it as a base to explore down the coast to Digby and Yarmouth and up into the Annapolis Valley. Host could not have been more helpful!"

"The property is lovely, convenient, and the owner and assistant were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Two negatives were that the walls were pretty thin, and yo could hear voices (muffled) on the other side. The other was that in the two nights/days that we were there we never were able to get onto the internet, even though we had the password correct. Despite those two things, I would not hesitate to stay here again."

Fantastic spot for a family

"We had a great stay from August 20-27. We chose this spot as it was close to family in the area and we wanted to be able to base ourselves close to them while also being within an hour or so of a lot of Halifax, Peggy's Cove, etc. The cottage was a great size, with lots of space for our family to relax and spread out. The kitchen was very well-appointed. The outdoor space was just wonderful - we enjoyed a campfire almost every night, and during the day the kids spent hours in the paddleboat checking out the shoreline. If we are back in the area, we will definitely check to see if this cottage is available!"
