Excellent hotel to be reasonably close to Ikebukuro station, about 10 min walk and can be done mainly underground. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable with many amenities that you would find in the US at major hotels.

Hotel is very convenient to shopping and eateries. There’s also an airport limousine bus that stops at this hotel that can get you to and from Haneda or Narita airports. The only thing I miss is having drawers in the room to put my clothes in. However, there were cubbies that could be used for packing cubes.

We stayed at the Sunshine City Prince hotel for a couple nights and had a nice experience. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the location is great for people who like to hang out in the animate sector of Ikebukuro. The direct access to the Sunshine City mall is convenient but the distance from the train station is kind of bothersome if you plan on moving a lot. The size of the room was good for 2 people with 2 suitcases each. Also, there is a travel bus that can bring you straight to the hotel or the airport depending on where you’re heading. It is very convenient!

Had a great stay here! Only reason for 4 stars is that you can’t control the temperature in your room and it’s centrally controlled and it was always too hot and also not much air blowing out, for 5 nights that was a big detractor. Also the rooms are really basic and a bit scuffed up not sure it qualities for the number of stars it advertises for. Everything else was great.
