Great place and a responsive host
We were a family of 7 and stayed in Jim’s place for 6 weeks. It’s a beautiful home with a wonderful backyard and accommodated all of us comfortably. Jim was a very responsive host who made sure the stay was worry-free. Overall, I highly recommend this place for families and for longer stays.

Nice time at Birch Cliff home
My family and I stayed here for 5 weeks while I was working in Toronto. When we arrived we were quarantined for 2 weeks, and the house provided ample space and a huge backyard. My almost two year old loved the swing set and large deck space as well as green grass he could play soccer in. Completely fenced in and lots of privacy. The bottom floor of the house also had toys and an extra refrigerator and we could watch Disney+ on the big flat screen. The main floor of the house had a huge open floor plan. The kitchen had all of the amenities we needed and we could cook and BBQ on the deck. Plenty of indoor and outdoor eating spaces. The washer and dryer and laundry room was perfect as well. The upstairs had four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We were able to utilize one as my office and it came with a desk and chair. The master bedroom is very large and also had a flat screen TV. We really enjoyed our time here as a family. Once we were out of quarantine, we were just a very short drive to the beaches neighborhood, which is very walkable and has a large park for my son. Great coffee shops and ice cream parlors. We went often. The house is also walkable to a very large park overlooking the lake. The house doesn’t have a view really, as it’s behind a row of houses that line the lake, but occasional glimpses and a short walk provides better views. We definitely recommend the home.I would confirm if the hot tub was fully working. It didn’t heat up on its own, so we filled it with hot water a couple of times. And the upstairs jacuzzi tub worked except for the shower nozzle. The dishwasher is finicky, but ultimately worked the whole time. Definitely just pandemic nuisances that will probably resolve when handymen can enter homes comfortably again.

Beautiful home with lots of room.
We spent 14 days there and look forward to returning. The home is spacious and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, living room, huge dining area, plenty of bedrooms and a beautiful deck and backyard. The downstairs den with full restaurant-type bar and huge sectional sofa and large flat screen TV is a great indoor space for evenings and gatherings with friends. The owner and his wife couldn’t have been more welcoming and delightful to deal with. We had everything we needed and then some. Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful home! Fabulous for a gathering of up to 10 people.
Jim came to our rescue on the eve of our travel when a property we had booked in November was canceled. Within minutes of booking Fallingbrook, we had a contract delivered and signed. The house is spacious and we loved the huge island in the kitchen, as well as the large adjacent dining room, with tables to seat 14. We felt comfortable and welcomed.

Excellent getaway!
My family (me, husband, 2 kids, dog) stayed here during a trip to Toronto. The house was clean, so avoid, and met all our needs. The fenced in back yard was Pete the first our dog, and we enjoyed the hot tub even while it was snowing! The house is very near to walking trails along the water, of which we took advantage. If dining in, it’s easy to cook it get take out. The short drive into the city for attractions (20-25 minutes) was no problem and worth it to have the space of the house and yard. The owner was quick to respond when needed. We recommend the house and would stay again if in the area.

Comfortable home away from home
We enjoyed our week long stay at this property in November 2019. We were in Toronto for my son's wedding and not a holiday so my comments speak to the practical aspects of the home, though I am sure if visiting in the summer months it would only be that much better. The owners were extremely responsive in all respects and I likely had more questions than the average renter. The backyard looks like it would be a little wonderland in the summer time and it felt like a little retreat into nature back there! The home is comfortable and well-loved. We had all the space we needed for visiting family. We had some issues with one of the kitchen sinks and using the dishwasher but with the help of the owner found a way to manage. I would imagine this would be sorted out for future renters. This is a great home for large families or groups.

great place to stay
We had a wonderful time at the property, and enjoyed having the hot tub as an added bonus! There is plenty of space for people to sit at the dining room table. The kitchen is nicely updated, although a conversion chart on Celsius to Fahrenheit would be nice for the oven. Also, a quick start guide for the oven would be nice (you have to turn on the timer for the oven to begin heating). Otherwise, we greatly enjoyed our stay, and communication with Jim was easy and quick.

Absolutely Loved It!
The owner was very responsive and communicative. He visited the property and though I was out at the time he met with the family to check in our stay the first to ever do so in the years my family and I have rented through VRBO. Two slight, very minor, drawbacks are the internet service was a bit spotty and only two televisions on the property. If I could give the home and neighborhood six(6) stars I would, loved it! I highly recommend this property.

Family vacation
We enjoyed our stay in Toronto. Jim’s home was very nice. There were only 6 of us , so there was way more than enough room. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything necessary to prepare meals. The girls loved the hot tub. The description said downtown was about 20 minutes away with the horrible traffic it always took us at least 35 minutes but there was a lot of construction. The only thing we were not happy with was the internet , it was extremely slow. Everything else was awesome! We had a lot of fun riding the bikes in the neighborhood, that was very nice to offer the guests use of the bikes .

Absolutely wonderful
Myself and a group of friends rented this property at the end of May and we were not disappointed. As soon as we entered the house we were all in awe! It is beautiful, spacious and well kept. We loved the main lounge/kitchen area as this is where we spent most of our times just hanging out and enjoying the views into the garden. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, - it really felt like a home away from home! We used the provided bikes to go cycling around the neighbourhood - one of the highlights of our stay as the area is beautiful. We also thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub as well as hosting a game night in the bar area downstairs. Jim and Linda were very attentive and answered any questions we had promptly! Honestly, if you are thinking of booking this property then do it - you won't be disappointed.

Stunning Reunion Place for the Immediate Family
As an American who did four years’ grad work at University of Toronto, Toronto’s my favorite city in N. America. And Scarborough Bluffs is one of my favorite places in Toronto. So I was delighted when my wife, Susan, suggested this lovely home on Springbank for celebrating my 75th bday. It exceeded expectations. Spacious, gracious, and full of light, with a front porch and back patio that feed long conversations, a kitchen for serious cooks like our family, and a huge dining room that easily accommodates over 12. Plenty of easy parking in the driveway. And Jim, the owner, was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. We’d definitely come back.

Great family holiday home
This home was very well appointed, 20 mins drive from downtown and easy access to the road network. Home was stunning, we had an active holiday but we spent a few days of our break just enjoying the house and everything in it. There are bikes in the garage that we were able to cycle down to the woods and parks. Lake view out of some windows and close enough to supermarkets to go food shopping. Jim, the host, was very helpful and quick to respond to even my most trivial enquiries. Kids enjoyed the hot tub and hanging out in the basement. The master bedroom was more like a suite - large and spacious. We are already discussing our next trip back and staying at this lovely home. Thank you Jim for allowing us to stay in this incredible accommodation.

Excellent home for a large family or anyone who would like the all comforts of home.
The picture on the web depicts the beauty of this home very well but once you step on the porch, put the fire place on and gaze out into the beautiful garden, you are on vacation. My husband and I were traveling with our adult children their spouses and our grandkids. Lots of room and then some for our party of 9. The full functioning kitchen made meals and gatherings fun. We enjoyed the waterfront trail, access to parks by walking and using the bikes in the garage. We loved everything and look forward to a return visit.

Our stay was superb in every way
I am delighted to say that our family week in Fallingbrook was absolutely superb in every way. We filled the house for a joyful family celebration and found every amenity and more to our total satisfaction. In aid of welcoming a large, multi-generation family, the house always provided places for individuals or small groups to congregate without ever feeling crowded. Everybody enjoyed the Jacuzzi at one time or another. Each night one or two family members volunteered to cook for the crowd and there was never a utensil or cooking vessel wanted for, for BBQing, baking casseroles, cheesecake, carrot cake, you name it, there were no excused but to carry forward and do it. We had several delightful swims in the Lake after a little challenge finding the closest place to the house for a dip, but those scouting trips were delightful walks through interesting streets and wonderful parks and put good use to the many bikes available in the garage. Our hosts were quickly and kindly responsive to our every query. The garden is delightful and a welcome, gentle, gathering place. I can recommend this elegant vacation home without reservation.

The home is impressive, the neighbrohood inviting, we loved it and would definitly stay here again
June 12th-19th 2018 my family and I which consisted of 6 adults and 2 children ages 2 & 4 , spent a week in this beautiful home. From the start I was impressed with how quickly Jim the owner responded to my request to book his home. And that each time I had a question or an issue he would e-mail me right back. And that was even before I even got there. You know how, you may have to find something to do while you are waiting on check-in time well Jim E-mail me and inquired as to when we'd be arriving to let me know that the house was ready when ever we arrived. Not having to wait for the check-in time was BIG for me. (Thanks Jim). Now for the house it was all we hope for and more, very clean lots of room the beds were quite comfortable the kitchen was fabulous, and stocked beyond my imitation. Be sure to check all the drawers and cabinets before you go to the grocery store you will save yourself some money. The kids loved the backyard and the swing. The only regret we had was not being able to spend more time at the house. It was our first time in Canada and we were site seeing most of the time but to that the house's location was great for most of our excursions. You wont be disappointed if you book a stay at this home. Thanks again Jim for your extra help .
