"Summary We'd recommend the Bamboo house for one night specifically to the do the hike only. Go for the cheapest room. "Very friendly helpful staff. The grounds and casitas are nice and the views of the lake and volcano are really nice. Of course, the flies are incessant in the morning. "If you are searching for total isolation, this villa is right up your alley. There are no taxi services and no restaurants other than the villa’s which has limited meal options. The villa is located in a farming and very poor part of Bali. The flies are constant which makes sitting outside uncomfortable. For meals, we ate in our room so as to elude them. We had three nights booked but only stayed for two."

"This hotel is a in a fantastic location and has a lot going for it. Pity the maintenance is not fully up to date for a 20 plus year old hotel. The staff are great and super helpful. The view and hot springs are wonderful and super relaxing. On a side note, don’t bother to ask for any specific or special requests as they don’t follow up. This was the second time we stayed in this hotel and we confirmed our request on our last stay 4 weeks ago."
