Suttons Bay also has wonderful clothing shops, fun toy stores, a bookstore, gift shops, a public library (with wireless Internet), a marina, parks, and movies at the historic Bay Theater You'll be ten minutes from the Leelanau Sands Casino and entertainment stage. In addition, you will be a maximum of 30 minutes from Traverse City or from any Leelanau County site such as the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, wineries, Leland (Fishtown), and Northport State Park. Traverse City offers our small 'big town' activities including Old Town Playhouse, the Dennos Museum Center, and the Traverse City Opera House. The Interlochen Center for the Arts offers programs and concerts throughout the year.

Summer:
Summer Activities include winery tours, bicycling, beach activities (swimming, playgrounds, picnics, beach volleyball), fishing, boating, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking (Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore, Whaleback Point) and tours of the lighthouse at Northport. Events include Suttons Bay Art Festival (first weekend in August), Suttons Bay Jazz Festival (fourth Saturday in July), Antique Boat Show, and the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. If you are a boater, we have several companies that will drop in a boat for you to rent for your week on the water.

Fall:
Fall offers spectacular color touring with bright red maples, vibrant oranges, yellows, and golds. A color tour is not complete without stopping by a farm market for fresh cider and doughnuts. Other activities include antiquing, shopping, color tours, hiking, lighthouse tours, Leelanau Sands Casino, fishing, winery tours/wine tasting, horseback riding, biking, or a day at the spa. Finish the day by enjoying a sunset on Lake Michigan in Leland.

It is less than thirty minutes to the Homestead -- a family-friendly ski resort featuring three lifts, a great lesson program, up-to-date ski (downhill or cross country) and snowboard rental equipment, and spectacular views of Lake Michigan! Crystal Mountain resort is approximately one hour away. There are also numerous cross-country trails in the area and close access to the TART trails. Enjoy ice skating at the downtown Suttons Bay rink, great ice fishing, dining out, sunrises over Suttons Bay, and snowmobiling. Great Location! Very Clean!
We went up for a quick weekend to enjoy the colors and some family time! This house was perfect for us! It was clean, and roomy! It is just a minute from downtown Suttons Bay which was a perfect little walk from the house. Very close to Hoplot which is a fun place to visit!

Family vacation to Suttons Bay
Stayed week of 9/22/24 for family vacation. Very nice property, clean and comfortable. Beautiful view out the living room window that includes part of the bay. Public beach down the street and an easy walk to town. Appreciated having a place to store our bikes out of the weather. Any questions we had were answered promptly. Look forward to a return visit.

Lovely Stay in Cheery Suttons Bay
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and nicely decorated, the kitchen fully equipped, and plenty of linens/towels. There is a peekaboo view of the bay across the street and a very short drive or walk into town. Quiet neighborhood, and convenient to TC, Leland, Sleeping Bear…

Great location and a fun cottage feel
This cottage is in a great accessible location. We brought bikes and utilized the available covered storage but you don't need them and can easily walk to the nearby beach or the larger one up in Sutton's Bay as well as the whole main street.

Suttons Bay getaway
We loved the area & would definitely return. The town is walking distance with such quaint little shops. We are always amazed by the beautiful blue waters. Our Mission Peninsula winery tour was great & we caught fresh salmon in Lake Michigan. The house is immaculate & better than the pictures. It had everything we needed.

The size and layout of this property was perfect for our group - three adult sisters and Mom. The location was walking distance to grocery stores and downtown. There was plenty of storage space inside and outside - we had bikes and beach chairs. The kitchen was well outfitted and the laundry was very convenient. We were very comfortable during our week and I’d highly recommend this vacation house!

Great Stay
What a stroke of luck we had in getting this cottage! We booked very last minute and Lori was able to accommodate us the same day. The location was ideal, a beach at the end of the street, and a short walk to downtown. The cottage was impeccably clean and spacious, and amply stocked with necessities. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept great. Lori was quick to respond to messages and we are so glad we booked with her.

What a great gem!
The house was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Everything you need to relax and enjoy Sutton's Bay, just bring your food, clothes and water toys. The accommodations were outstanding, so much more that other places I've stayed at. The town was close to the house; and a public beach in walking distance.

One of our best VRBO experiences
The property was exactly as described in terms of layout and location. It was one of the cleanest and most thoughtfully outfitted cottages we've ever stayed in. From the well-stocked kitchen (with necessities like soap, paper towel, coffee, s/p, etc) to the updated and pristine bathrooms (with hand soap, hair dryer, etc) we loved staying in this cottage. The town of Sutton's Bay is within easy walking and the small public beach on the way was perfect for launching our paddle boards and letting our dog swim. Lori was responsive when we had questions. Overall a great week with our four kids (and thanks for sending us sunny warm days!).

Great place in Suttons Bay
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a great size for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) and the house was bigger than I expected. Check in was simple. Place was very clean and well-stocked. My only suggestion would be to remove the picture that describes private beach and kayaks and canoe as they are no longer available with the rental. We had not realized this and would have brought our canoe had we known. However there is a public beach within walking distance (about 10 minute walk) and another beach in town with rentals.

Perfect location and accommodations…
We loved this little cottage for a lot of reasons. The location is perfect, within walking distance to downtown Sutton’s Bay. Several nice restaurants and cute little shops to explore. There’s a small grocery store very close by where you can get all the essentials. The cottage itself is very cute and cozy and it was immaculately clean! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare simple meals and I liked that there were a couple empty cabinets to store your extras. The outdoor grill was clean and in excellent working order, which isn’t always the case in rental properties. We had one very minor question and Lori responded right away. Traverse City is about 15-20 miles away and it’s a pretty drive so we were able to explore on a few different occasions. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we’re already planning our trip next year!

Sutton’s bay vacation
Great vacation week! Home was clean and spacious. Living room and bedrooms were spacious. Worked well for our family. Close to adult fun spots(brewery and wineries) great small beach with swings. The kids looked forward to their morning walk. Wished the kayaks still came with the rental as we had to rent them, but they were available in town. Sutton’s bay had a lot to offer with shopping, ice cream and places to eat. Large beach area downtown with sand volleyball court. We would rent this home again!

One of the best weekends!
This is a charming little house (actually not so little) just across the street from a private beach on Suttons Bay (offshoot of Grand Traverse Bay), and a 5 min walk from a public beach and playground. The house was meticulously clean and organized, and while it looks small from the outside, it actually stretches quite a way in back. It has 3 good size bedrooms, one of which has two beds, two doors and a curtain in between so it functions as 2 bedrooms. There are only 2 baths, but they are full baths and good size. The kitchen is easy to work in. And the town of Suttons Bay is just an ideal place for a long weekend or a week - to explore the beaches and wineries, the old fishtown, Traverse City, boating, tennis, golf - whatever suits your fancy. We were so pleased with our stay that we are going to look at returning sometime soon. Lori, the owner, was easy to reach, very responsive, and very honest about everything. A great VRBO owner!
