"The hotel and general area was very peaceful. The hospitality was great, and the staff made us feel right at home. The view from the hotel is amazing, being close to both the mountains and the lake. It was also very convenient to drive to beautiful cities, such as Bern, Thun, the local Brienz, and Grindelwald is also not too far. Certainly has a more cottage vibe, but it adds to the experience. "We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue.
