"We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"This hotel was not my first choice. It was the only place with accommodation during the period of my visit. Expedia and the hotel web site state check-in is at or after 4:30PM. "The location of the hotel works well for any evenings in the historical old city, or getting out of town during the day. The hotel has seen better days and has not seen any modernisation. The fixtures are not exactly vintage but everything that I touched worked fine. Comfort level was pretty average but it was not an expensive stay. We visited during covid so I don't think the pool was open. Breakfast could have offered a bit more choice ahead of early checkout."
