Overall: If you NEED to have a hotel in this area of Tucson and you don't mind exterior door rooms and you don't care about service and you can get it for $100/night, go for it. Otherwise, look for a hotel in north Tucson – 30 minutes away is a very nice area. Good: Although it looks like a Motel 6 when you arrive, the inside property is surprisingly nice, including the rooms, pool & lobby. Good: One employee (Edward was his name, I believe) was very customer focused and he did a great job helping us with coffee & amenities. Bad: Breakfast took 45 minutes & was served cold by the bar tender (who had the same temperature demeaner). We didn't even bother eating onsite thereafter. After speaking with the manager, no refund of pre-paid breakfasts was offered. Bad: Room service didn't show. Took almost an hour to get new towels after a subsequent phone call. Bad: Workout room was missing towels. After making a special request for towels, they delivered exactly three towels (for a room full of people). Bad: Neighborhood is rough. Nearby gas station has products under lock & key. Next door hotels have signs saying that the customer is responsible if their car is broken into. The Tuxon is fenced in, which helps if you stay here.

This is a very nicely decorated and renovated hotel. I love the murals, the bar was great, and while it was a bit cool to be jumping in the pool, it was very clean and pretty.

This by far exceeded expectations. The property was centrally located, very clean, had onsite bar and small menu, and the staff were so nice.

The rooms are incredibly noisy- this is an old motel that was remodeled, but the developers put cheap vinyl windows in which aren’t soundproof. So, the freeway noise never ends, it’s awful. Also, the neighborhood is a slum, there’s no food nearby, IHG has incredible nerve to charge $200-399 a night for this place.

Upon arriving, room key didn’t work, the door was jammed. Was given another room. That room’s tv didn’t work. Was told maintenance would fix next day at 9am. Came back that same evening and a/c didn’t work, front desk had to come and turn it on. Came back from hiking all day the following day and tv didn’t work, wasn’t notified we’d be moved to another room. Had to move all our stuff to another room. That room smelled bad and the room next door was smoking weed that fumigated our entire room. Absolutely worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. At one point we even considered just driving to our final destination in Phoenix just to have a peaceful stay. Oh and also upon leaving we were told their tvs and phones were having issues - so why wouldn’t they proactively just check a rooms functionality before a guest stays? Terrible waste of money and stressful.

This place is delightful! It has that modenr minimalist chic that really gives it character. The only priviso I'd give is to get a second story room as the floors are not carpeted, and I was awoken when someone checked in late above me, and came in rolling luggage and walking around with hard heeled shoes, at ~01:30, and i was unable to go back to sleep till about 03:30. Cheers! The TUXOℕ for the win.

She doesn't look like much if you enter through the back. There are two entrances, and once you get to check in at the front, the pictures make sense. Check in was nice and easy. The GM was nice as well. It was warm and inviting. All dressed up for Christmas. You can tell that everyone who works here cares about their job and their patrons. This hotel has a nice bar, pool, newly remodeled rooms, and easy access to the freeway. If you are unsure or uneasy about The Tuxon, don't be! You'll be happy you chose these sweet digs!

We have stayed here before. I really liked that the bar was open on Christmas Eve last time. The bed is very comfortable but there are few options for sitting in the room and the bed is uncomfortably high. Nice pool area. We would stay here again

I had a good stay at the Tuxon. The room is super cute. Perfect for one person. I chose this hotel because it was my most affordable option for a place with a Peloton. I wasn't disappointed. The Peloton was there and in operating condition. The neighborhood isn't the greatest and it isn't the worst either. Tucson is a mecca for the homeless so unless you stay at a resort and don't go in town, you will see homeless people everywhere. I didn't see any seedy characters near the hotel. I had everything I needed. I had enough TP and towels, body wash, mini fridge and there is a do not disturb magnet. I stayed in the 1st floor. I stayed 4 nights. I was woken up my last night by a late arriving guest clunking their luggage up the concrete stairs. No big deal really. I would stay here again.
