No bugs, plenty of hot water, clean and comfortable room. Does it need updating? yes - but if you need a simple, safe place to stay while you visit your college kid, this is a nice option.

Great place

Always great to stay here. Safe area in Northport and the hotel staff is quick to help and makes the check in process seamless. plus to mention they DO NOT COLLECT deposits which is the most annoying thing when dealing with hotels. So they are my go to when I need a room

This hotel has very sweet staff members that checked me in quickly. I requested to change from a double to a King due to my children not coming and they make the room change without any issue. The front desk associate showed me where the room was, even opened the door for me! The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, and I was surprised by the difference between how much nicer this Econolodge Northport is when compared to the one in Tuscaloosa. Breakfast was great, they allowed me to get coffee early since I am an early riser. They provided me with more towels with a positive attitude. I will definitely be returning next time I need to stay overnight at a hotel.

Great Place, but ...

Aside from the UA home-game price gouging (a sin of which all Tuscaloosa-area hotels are guilty), the lack of a shower curtain and an inoperable hair dryer, the room was exceptionally clean.

Property is fine. staff is friendly and welcoming. If I were to be super-picky... the coffee had loose coffee grounds in it. Pretty sure a deep-cleaning of coffee dispenser nozzle would clean-out the loose grounds. But, really, all was just fine and we had a lovely visit with our college student for Family weekend.

We had roaches in the room. Tiny hairs all in the sink. Linens appeared clean however. Overall the hotel was old and in need of updating. The gentleman at the front desk was not very friendly upon our arrival.

Bare bones

Dirty towels in the room when we arrived. The hair dryer did not work. The towels were not replaced - we had to go get them. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked. We had to go get more toilet paper. There were no tissues.

Good price but might want to choose somewhere else

Check in took a little longer than usual not sure why. The owners were friendly. The room had patched over holes. The mini fridge didn't work. The bed was comfy but the room reeked of marijuana even though it was a non-smoking room. There was restaurants nearby to eat at. The area was decent. My son and I only stayed one night. The pool was very small and was covered so we couldn't use it. Breakfast was terrible, they had coffee but no sugar and there were only 2 or 3 items to choose from. There wasn't any butter for waffles. There was no one around to ask for items that were unavailable.
