Come enjoy our log cabin north of Sardis Lake in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of SE Oklahoma. This view of the mountains can’t be beat! The Time Out is a newly built 3 bedroom/2 bathroom cabin situated on 3 acres and surrounded by trees. Sip on a glass of wine and watch the gorgeous sunset over the mountains right from the back porch. Roast marshmallows over the large stone fire pit. Lay in a hammock and soak in the mountain air. This area is perfect for stargazing as it is away from any city lights. Enjoy the seclusion of country life with all of the modern amenities of home including a large fully stocked kitchen, WI-FI, smart TVs, and a beautiful double-sided gas fireplace.
Surrounding Area:
Southeast Okahoma is a nature lover’s paradise! There are three parks with boat ramps on Sardis Lake all within 10 minutes of the cabin. Sardis Lake provides beautiful scenery as well as excellent fishing, boating, kayaking, picnicking, and even a park with a swimming beach. Bring your ATV as there are miles and miles of ATV trails here in the Ouachita and Kiamichi Mountains.
The Ouachita National Forest is 20 minutes away and has 1.8 million acres of mountainous hiking trails, clear lakes, and rivers. You can drive the famed Talimena Scenic Byway and take in the views from Talimena State Park, Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area, and Deadman Vista. The nearby town of Talihina also has several restaurants and shops.
Clayton Lake State Park is 20 minutes away with a “no wake” lake that is excellent for kayaking and fishing. The park also has picnic tables and several miles of lake view hiking trails. The town of Clayton also has a grocery store, Dollar General, and several restaurants within 20 minutes of the cabin.
Robbers Cave State Park is 30 minutes away and has some of the most scenic hiking trails of any state park in Oklahoma.
You can take a 10 minute drive to the Choctaw Nation Museum to take in the Choctaw history of the area. Stop by Chuck’s Classic Cycles Bar & Grill on the way to try their famous Philly Cheesesteak and listen to live music. They even have a classic motorcycle museum.
