I read previous reviews, so I knew the last 100m to Gusti's house are not accessible by car and that a headlight or a torchlight would be useful for late evening or early morning access. If you are a light sleeper, you may be disturbed by singing roosters or frogs. We spent our last night in Ubud at Gusti's Garden so to test whether this kind of accomodation could meet our needs. Test passed successfully. I liked the ceiling fan for ventilation. At Gusti's, breakfast is a mix of banana pancake, fresh fruit platter, tea, coffee and toasted bread was just right. While there, I had a closer look at the organization of a balinese family temple, took pictures of the daily offerings to the gods, and enjoyed both the close proximity of the city centre (150m away down the hill) and the peacefulness of the setting in the middle of rice fields along a paddy rice pathway where people and motorcycles sometimes mingle.
