We had a fantastic stay here! The staff Alex and the team, were super friendly and had even planned daily group activities. We ordered the dinner set and it was incredible! We were able to get a ride to and from the train station, which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend giving them a call if you need to (we just used a payphone) as there was issues with sending messages on this website. The staff can speak English and Japanese! and were super foreigner friendly. The scenery was absolutely stunning and they even had swimwear and water shoes to rent if you wanted to go for a dip or use the saunas! Our cabin was beautiful, and clean. Our only regret would be not spending longer here :) Thank you Alex and the team for our incredible stay!

Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. We used Google maps and got there without difficulty. We were thankful to have a 4WD and snow tires, because there was ice on parts of the road. Highly recommend the place!

Quirky and remote property from the Showa era that evokes Ghibli-esque charm. The weather was cold and rainy but our stay at one of the cabins was warm and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were varied and delicious. Staff spoke English. Highly recommend!

"This was ok for one night. Road noise was a bit loud, but they provided ear plugs which was nice. I was put in the unit attached to the check in office and next to smoking area which was not ideal. Nice staff, comfy bed."

"The hotel is conveniently located next to Sakura machi mall with lot of dining options. There is also a park next to it and in holiday time they put a Christmas market. The roof top onsen is the most important part, relaxing and fun. They offer free ramen and popsicle."

"The room is modern and clean. It is just next to the JR Kumamoto and hence very convenient when travelling with many luggages. Kumamoto's transport is mainly by bus or tram. Hence, not convenient to travel to other hotels that are far away as no space in the trams."
