Browse a vast body of contemporary artworks and photographs and watch films and live performances at this leading Pamplona cultural institution.

Visit the University of Navarra Museum to explore a contemporary art institution with a rich collection of paintings, sculptures and photographs housed inside an abstract three-story building on the University of Navarra campus. Walk around exhibition halls that are filled with the works of prominent Spanish and international artists and photographers such as Pablo Picasso, Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

See paintings and sculptures that were bequeathed to the museum by María Josefa Huarte, who was a Pamplona resident and a patron of the arts. Among them are works by Picasso and Antoni Tàpies. Highlights include L'Esperit Català by Tapies, the Fraile Franciscano sculpture by Jorge Oteiza and Picasso's Mousquetaire, Tête, which was painted in 1967.

Explore the photography collection which includes donations by contemporary photographers and a bequest of José Ortiz-Echagüe, a prominent Spanish entrepreneur and photographer. There are more than 14,000 photographs and 100,000 negatives from the 19th century to the present day. The highlights include the Procesiones de Semana Santa by photographer José Rodrigo. This is an album of studio photographs from 1884-1900 that showcase the characters and costumes of the Easter week processions in the city of Lorca.

While you're visiting this cultural attraction, see what's on in the theater. This 700-seat space hosts performing arts events such as dances, plays and concerts as well as screening movies.

The University of Navarra Museum is located on the campus of the University of Navarra, about a 5-minute drive from the center of Pamplona. Park for free in the small on-site parking lot or travel here by bus or taxi.
