Friends Reunion - What a Great Weekend
We had a large group of friends (adults, plus kids) stay at the King's camp this past weekend for a 3 night stay. We cannot say enough good things about this place - it is such a treasure. The location is fantastic (just a short drive up the road to Blue Lake), with many hiking options close by if you want to get off side. The views and sunsets were stunning, the cabins and all amenities are in excellent condition. The property has everything you need for a great weekend with friends. The King's were accommodating, responsive, fair, and gracious hosts. We really hope to be back next year for a longer stay. Thanks again to the Kings for sharing their little piece of paradise with us!!

A Great Place, Great People
This is the second time we've been here and both times have been fantastic and we've had consistent service. Unlike the one reviewer we (20 of us) would say the care takers gave us the space we needed but were always available and accommodating. The lake is very private and wonderful to be on - lot's to explore and enjoy nature. The kids had an absolutely fantastic time and the adults were able to rest and relax with what ever activities we wanted. The commercial stove worked great. We can't say enough about how great the place was, lots of great memories were created and our family grew closer together. Including catching a Jack with a finger!

Amazing!
We came for a week with 3 families. Our group ranged from almost 4 to 65 years old. Everyone agreed that it was the best vacation they had ever been on. It surpassed all of our expectations. The views are simply breathtaking. It is such a peaceful place. I can honestly say I have never felt so calm and relaxed. The property itself is very well maintained. Cabins are clean, cozy an have great views of the lake. Angela and Eric are available to assist with anything you may need and we enjoyed meeting them very much. Mr. King was an excellent host. He was very prompt in answering all inquiries. He could not have been more gracious in sharing his piece of heaven with us! I rarely write reviews, but I cannot say enough about this vacation property. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing getaway to recharge. We would definitely like to return.

Family reunion
We stayed on the property with 17 adults and 20 kids. Steve was super accommodating about allowing us to park an RV on site as well as using all the cabins. We all had a great time. It was nice to be able to use the main lodge especially for meals so all the kids could sit together. The location is beautiful! We all loved watching the sunsets over the lake and hanging out on the dock and the beach during the day

Beyond expectations!!
I wish I could afford a property like this!! It is like going "back-in-time" and enjoying real cabins that are rustic yet incredibly comfortable. The privacy is something I have not experience before. Their lake is beautiful and the surroundings manicured. We will definitely return! 25 family members will too....

It is like going back in time yet with eloquent beauty!!
The staff and owner could not have been nicer or more helpful! My family enjoyed every moment! The privacy is amazing and the sunsets incredible! Their Main Lodge may be the most beautiful log building I have ever seen. The views from every cabin my family stayed overlooked the lake and are well maintained. Every detail has been covered by the owner and staff. I definitely will be back!

Wonderful place for a Family Gathering!
We had an amazing time making memories at this camp! There were 40 of us and they allowed us to bring campers as well! Very accommodating! The cabins were stocked very well. We had great weather and we were the only ones on the lake! Such a fantastic spot! I will definitely boast about this place! The only recommendation I would make would be to have a map of your property on your website and to note how many beds in each cabin as we were a really big group trying to accomodate everyone in beds. I did call and Steven gave me all the details and we did have an abnormally big group. It’s simply a suggestion! Also, Larry was really nice and also helpful. Thanks again for everything! Loved it!
We are a family of 32 people and found this place to perfectly suit our needs. Loved the quietness and the fact that our kids could make all the noise they wanted without disturbing anyone else. Also a big plus was the kitchen for preparing large meals and the main eating area to seat everyone during the rain! The owner and caretaker did a fantastic job of making sure our needs were met, and went above and beyond. Definitely will be going back!

Unforgettable experience! Excellent Management! The ideal Canadian lakefront cabin getaway!
This is THE place to visit if you want the best Canadian lakefront cabin experience! This spacious property is surrounded by a picturesque landscape which accommodates large groups comfortably. The owner was exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to help me when in need and the property manager reciprocated and extended this kindness. The lake is phenomenal with its inviting shallow waters and perfect temperature and is easily navigated with the provided boat and canoe. Our group also spent good quality time in front of the beautiful fireplaces using the provided firewood. The cabins themselves are all fantastic and are well cared for. The satellite TV and internet connection were appreciated but were rarely used because of how captivating everything else was. Morning walks are rejuvenating and the waterfront sunsets are a dream. Prepare to make unforgettable memories WHEN you come here!

Amazing experience!
I don't usually write reviews. But our stay @ Kings Camp deserves an excellent and remarkable review. It is not only the magnificent campsite, but the owner/host himself was worthy of outstanding praises. Steven, was a gracious host and a kind-hearted man. He never gets tired of answering my numerous questions/ inquires, and he responded beyond my expectations. With so many exchanges of emails, my family and I already built up friendship with him. For several years of camping with a huge group, it's our first time to have this marvelous experience. We had enough space for everyone. Each cabin has unique style and the matching memorabilia/mementos will take you back in time, purely heirloom pieces one would normally "encased", but they're there for us to touch and enjoy. The Main lodge is extravagantly decorated and immensely large for the whole group to converge, eat, play and have fun. There was a large water trampoline that got the kids very excited to take the plunge into the very clear and evenly shallow lake. The camp has enough amenities to make your stay a truly wonderful and safe experience! Once again, thank you Steven for the privilege of having personally known you. Hope to see you again soon. For sure, we will be coming back!

Best family reunion ever <3
Words cannot begin to describe how wonderful and memorable our 3 night stay was at the King's camp. I was the person who found the rental online and presented it to our family of 23. Even though everyone was in agreement, I was still a little anxious about how they would feel about the camp. Once everyone settled into their cabins and we met at the fire for a meal of pie iron pizzas - it began to soak in what a wonderful 3 days we were in for. My parents are 83 and 80 and they loved every bit of the weekend. We had set up a sign up sheet for meal preps and clean ups and they signed up right down to the youngest nephew who was 12. The babies were off the hook this time :) To see my Dad standing at the grill cooking the breakfast meats and my Mom with her hands in dishwater - happy as all get out - it was a blessing for sure. We spent one day pretty much in the lodge as it was cool and drizzly. It was so much fun. A fire burned all day. Games were played, naps taken, snacks never ended. It was heavenly. The next day was spent on the dock and in the water. It was so much fun. We loved the two boats and also had several inflatable boats, a couple of paddle boards and a kayak. My two year old grandsons love to sit on my lap at the computer and look at all of the pictures over and over. Whenever we had questions - Doug the caretaker was right there with answers. He was so helpful. We definitely will keep this camp in mind for our next family reunion. It was fabulous. Thank you Steven & Susan for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us.

Empty Promises that led to a very stressful vacation
I am normally one not to write a review, but after reading all the positive reviews on this site, I feel obligated to say that this place is not up to par with the description and the pictures. First off when you advertise a fully functional commercial stove, you da*n well better have it there when guest arrive. This made it very difficult to feed a family of 24 total people, which each family takes a night cooking. We had to use several cabins in order to just prepare one meal due to the size and functionality of the stoves in the smaller cabins and then transport all the food to the lodge. Another problem we had was the rudeness of the staff from the first day of arrival. This is just unacceptable and needs to be brought to the attention of the owner. Although the dock was nice, before the storm the caretaker brought his boat over, and took up one of the dock spaces. This caused us to cram three boats into 2 slots. After the storm, we almost lost one of the boats as it filled with water. This was not a fun thing to walk down to at 5.30 in the morning. But at least the caretakers boat was safe and still floating!!! Then came the overbooking of the cabins. We were surprised when we were flagged in and told that we had less than three hours to get our 3 boats out of the water, cabins packed up, squeeze in a fish fry to use the fish that had been cleaned, and still try to keep out sanity. I understand that mistakes happen, I just don't understand why the wedding party couldn't be the one to find alternative housing, as we were already there. It was posted in the lodge that our checkout time was noon on Saturday, not Friday. Although the owner found us alternate housing in Kenora, I still feel we should be recieving a refund for at least part of the week, as it was not up to standard with what was promised, we had 3 hours to pack up and leave. Water Trampoline was broken, (Watched care taker purposefully drag trampoline through boat trailers, rocks, sticks, pushed it down hill, and then wonders why there are holes in it) Caretaker was rude to guests, No Fish house to clean fish, got eaten alive trying to do it at a picnic table. PS: My cousins review was responded to and the owner made my family out to be criminals, we never trashed the cabins, we never broke any locks, we didn't steal anything. The fact that we are being accused of this is ludicrous. We paid for a week, and we have texts to prove that we had the cabins for a week.

Breathtaking words can not describe the beauty of this site!!!
We had the opportunity to have our wedding here! Can not say enough about the facility, it was more than we could have hoped for! Steven and his team (site mangers) did all they could to help make our day even more special can not thank them enough! We didn't want to leave. And are already talking about a return visit celebrate our anniversary! Everyone who attended our wedding celebration was blown away by the beauty of this site. The pictures on the VRBO website do not do this place justice.

AMAZING, MAGICAL place for large families!
From the get go this was an incredible experience. Dealing with the owner via email was smooth and he was very attentive to answer questions and accomodate us. We rented the whole place for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and were a group of 17. We had so much space to spread out but could all come together in the lodge to hang out. The cabins were perfect and had all you need. The lake - wow! Private lake all to yourselves with a nice dock to spend time on and watch the kids swim. We had access to 2 boats and a canoe and spent lots of time on the water and caught lots of fish! Doug went above and beyond as a caretaker - we were so well taken care of and he made our time that much more enjoyable!!! I feel words do not do this review justice. The property is private and truly magical. We had to drag the kids away at the end of our stay with a promise that we would be back!! You will not regret choosing this for your next vacation!

GREAT PLACE FOR A LARGE FAMILY VACATION WITH FISHING AND BOATING
We rented the whole place with 5 cabins for a group of 22 of us; my mom and dad and all seven of their adult children with 5 spouses and 8 grandchildren. We had plenty of room to spread out into the various cabins but still eat all of our meals together in the big main cabin and all congregate there to play games, etc. the one night it rained when we couldn't enjoy our time together outside by a campfire. The resort was great, the lake was beautiful and the staff was so nice and helpful. Most of us kayaked, canoed or motor boated and fished every day. We had a great time and would definitely come back again! I wish I could post a couple pictures of the good time that we had! :)

Had our Wedding Here
In August 2014 we rented the entire camp to have our wedding with about 20 friends and family. We also had the opportunity to stay by ourselves in June. Both experiences were fantastic. The property is very private and fairly large. The trees in this area are sparse (if you've ever stayed at Blue Lake Campground you'll know what I mean) but the cabins are well spaced, so you still get plenty of privacy if there are other parties staying. The owners and caretakers are all wonderful, very generous, and hospitable. Wedding: We stayed for 3 nights during the wedding, and held the ceremony outdoors and set up the dining room in the lodge for dinner catered from Buster's BBQ on Hwy 17. We had about 20 people and were all able to sleep comfortably (between 3-6 ppl per cabin), with only a couple of folks sleeping on air mattresses. 6 people stayed in the lodge, but we used it as the communal space for the kitchen, dining room, and living room. There are only two other properties on the lake, and both appeared empty while we stayed, so we were able to play music after the ceremony and enjoy the bonfire. It was better than we could have imagined and everyone was amazed at how beautiful the camp and area is. The water was warm and clear, the lake was nice and empty for some boating, and we brought our canoe as well. All we needed to bring up with us was clothes and food. Everything was provided for - kitchen items, linens, towels, firewood, water toys, motor boats, charcoal grills - and if we needed anything else the caretakers were just a call away. More pictures of the decorated lodge and property will follow in a few weeks. Personal stay: We stayed by ourselves in June in one of the renovated guest cabins and had an amazing time (so much so that we'll be going back again in October). The cabins are rustic and homey with lots of memorabilia from over the years. The cabin we stayed in had a huge stone fireplace and clear views of the lake and the sunset. The property really is gorgeous and if you like hiking, there are good trails close by at the Blue Lake Campground (11km Goblin Lake hike is fantastic). This is the perfect place for a quiet, rustic, relaxing escape. We plan to make this a regular tradition now and I think we've converted a few friends and family as well.

Sweet Cottage Life in Northern Ontario !
Had a wonderful week at the lake with my family - both older and younger generations. Cottages were clean and properly supplied. Support staff were flexible and attentive to the few requests we had. Lovely swimming and boating ! A provincial park close by provided a few hikes and an alternative beach to visit. This is a place to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Amazing
Our family was looking for a place where we could celebrate my father's 84th birthday together - all 20 of us coming from NY to LA and many places inbetween. We wanted to fish and relax together and have big dinners and bonfires in the evenings. A couple families were retired, one family had 3 year old twins, one family had teenagers, a couple families with adult kids. To find something for all of us was a tall task! We found the King's Kenora resort on VRBO. AND IT FAR SURPASSED OUR EXPECTATIONS. The pictures on-line are real. The ordinary pictures we took of eachother while there are amazing! We rented all the cabins for our stay. They were comfortable and had gorgeous views of the lake. The Main lodge had a great kitchen and provided all the pots and pans we needed to cook our meals! When we went to light the evening bonfire, every night we found the firepit cleaned and stacked with plenty of wood. Each cabin and the main lodge was stocked with plenty of firewood. We enjoyed the fishing boats that were available to us the entire stay. They provided lifevests and an extra fishing rod when we needed one! The lake was amazing! Private and quiet. The fisherman in our party were thrilled. The others who had no previous experience fishing were even more excited. We caught fish for dinner every night! The resort had a wonderful, big canoe that all ages enjoyed. We took the canoe out every day. The evening paddles around the gorgeous, still lake were peaceful and fun! The main lodge has comfortable sofas and a big diningroom where we could reconnect with family! The little town nearby had a playground for the kids and there was a delicious BBQ restaurant. Everyone at the resort was very friendly and extremely helpful. The Kings made sure we had everything we needed. What a vacation! It was a perfect gathering for our family and a big part of what made it special was the King's resort!

Peaceful, relaxing and great views!
My husband and I were looking for a cottage to rent that offered a quiet natural setting on a lake to get away from our busy work schedules and this property did not disappoint! The cottage we stayed in had a fantastic lake view with a beautiful stone fireplace. If you did not want to cook inside you could barbecue or drive ten minutes to the town of Vermilion Bay to a number of good restaurants and access to internet if you were so inclined. Cell phone reception on the property is excellent. If you are active individuals like us there are lots of things to do, canoeing, swimming, boating with great walking, running, hiking and biking trails right out your door just waiting to be explored. We found less than a mile down the driveway to the property is a trail that links to snowmobile trails which during the spring, summer or fall can be used for trail running, walking or mountain biking. Steven King is a gracious host with lots of tips of things to see and do and we found everyone working there to be very friendly and helpful. We feel very fortunate to have found a place that offered the tranquility, history and rustic charm we were looking for. We are already making plans to return and looking forward to a bonfire under the stars after a day of exploring.

Simply Amazing
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at one of the log cabins. It was absolutely amazing. So quiet and peaceful with breathtaking scenery every day. We are very much looking forward to coming back for our anniversary. You basically have an entire lake to yourself. The fishing is great - which is an added bonus. We caught Northern Pike every day we went out and really weren't even trying. The cabins are very romantic with a wood burning fireplace and beautiful sunsets right out the picture windows every evening. The cabins are located amidst the wooded timber so you really get the outdoor adventure feel when you stay here.
