Big picture, we love this home, so much that we have been here 3 summers in a row. The homeowner is lovely, always responds generously and quickly. However, the property management company is out of touch and cheap.

Historic, woodsy, peaceful
5 of us gathered at this charming historic home for a long weekend. 4 adults and 1 tween. The house was as it appears in the listing. Neat to be in such an old home, but with air conditioning and a pool!! The other house in the property was not in use so we had the pool and yard to ourselves. We didn’t linger outside much longer than our trips to the pool as it was very hot (visited in Aug) and most of us are not keen on bugs (mosquitos and horseflies), but we weren’t bothered by them in the pool. The house was generally clean but could have used a more extensive dusting in windowsills and such. We were also quite surprised to see a tree fell on the house *with no damage to the house* but was still lying on the house. So we opted to not use the spare room under the tree. There could be some upgrades to the kitchen tools available. There was just one pan for cooking so it made things quite difficult and slow when cooking meals for 5… and only part of the grill worked, but it was nice to have a (partial) grill. I’d recommend if you’re cool with historic places that have quirks (squeaky floors, loud door latches, etc).

A nice getaway
It was perfect! The house is historic, you can feel like you are staying at the museum which was a plus for us. I just wish the pool was a bit cleaner, but other than that it was perfect! Very clean! The beds were very comfortable!

Beautiful, relaxing setting. Remote, but not too remote. High-end organic markets very close by as are restaurants and Frenchtown. I grew up close by in a old house and it was nice to relive that. House had everything we needed, new kitchen, large tvs and charm. Last but not least the hose where very thoughtful and helpful and made our stay more enjoyable. Scott & Michael

Quiet Stay in the Country
Set off a rural road. Quiet. Very comfortable bed. Charming old farm house. Convenient to Frenchtown and Milford, NJ. Jaunty couch in front of a working fireplace was a good place to curl up (it was 27 degrees during our stay). Claw-foot tub for bathing or showering worked well. Plushy Host did a great job keeping us informed and answering questions quickly during our stay.

A slice of heaven
We just stayed at this beautiful property and had the most wonderful time. The property is a charming 1800s era farmhouse perched above the Delaware river and canal. It's surrounded by fields, hedgerows and some ponds all with plenty of resident wildlife and gorgeous views to keep you entertained. There is also an in-ground pool and swings which would be wonderful during the warmer months. The locality is really delightful and has many activities to offer. There's cycling trails along the canal path and lots of wonderful places to dine. The house itself was immaculate and very comfortable with all the conveniences we could have wished for. Our host could not have been more gracious, or helpful. We are already looking forward to another visit :) Thanks again, Lotus!

Great stay!
Our family had a blast at this lovely home and property for the month of August. The routine of swimming, cooking meals, and hiking in the nearby parks and trails was exactly what we were looking for. House itself was very clean, well appointed, folks were extremely attentive and responsive (shared great local tips!), and all-around great. We will be back!

Lovely stay!
We stayed for the full month of July to get away from the city. My husband and I worked during the day (thanks to good WiFi!) while our kids enjoyed the pool and the property. The entire stay was a joy —- the property is beautiful and serene and the house is lovely. The location is close enough to things you want to do but far enough to have total privacy and real ‘rural’ life. The owner was great and recommended things to do and quickly responded to questions or little issues that arose. We plan to come back again!!

Beautiful property.
The kitchen is not as big as it looks in pictures but it was still nice. The outdoor table was not clean and only 2 chairs at table and 2 lounge chairs at pool. There were 4 of us so not so comfy outside. We went during a pandemic and there was no hand soap in bathrooms luckily we had sanitizer. Very peaceful.

Better that it’s listing!
Our stay was lovely. The home is beautiful and includes all the quirkinesses people who love old homes expect coupled with the comforts of a modern home. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was nicely stocked (they could use one or two baking trays as the location of the home and the kitchen is conducive for cooking). While it is winter, we still explored the grounds. And, though not an issue for us, people should know the full bath upstairs is shared between the two bedrooms. The half bath downstairs off the main living area is a great bonus. However the gem of the downstairs is the wonderful wood burning fireplace: a true joy during a chilly weekend! Unlike other places we’ve stayed that are managed by and lived in by the owners - this is a rental property that is managed by property managers who were very responsive throughout the stay. If you like what you’ve read:you’ll love the place.
