"Check-in was frustrating this time, because they clearly were not expecting us. English comprehension was very poor. I told her that I had reserved two rooms over a week before, but she insisted that I had no reservation. So I looked up my prepaid reservation on my phone and showed it to her. Even though she had heard and seen my name several times, she kept on looking through other reservations and asking if that was my name. After a very long wait, she finally found it. The room was obviously old, and the furniture was showing its age. However, the modern bathroom was appreciated as was the in-room safe. There was a persistent smell of sewage in the bathroom, however, that never went away my entire stay.
Internet/wifi was good, with reasonable speed and a solid connection. However, the television was not “smart” - an older model that shows only about 6 broadcast channels, all in either Georgian or Russian. It would be nice to have YouTube or Netflix access, or at least one English language news channel such as the BBC or CNN.
Overall, it’s a 2.5 to 3 star hotel with a 5 star staff. "
