"I travelled to the Tourotel expecting the worst given a lot of the reviews, and was pleasantly surprised and can only suggest those giving such poor reviews haven't stayed in ski accommodation before or hadn't looked at any of the photos. Yes it's basic (as are most ski accommodations), but they are well equipped (I've attached the inventory of the 2 bed apartment), and the mountain facing balcony rooms have the best view of any accommodation I've stayed in the alps. "Our second time visiting and we have rebooked for a 3rd Nicole was amazing despite some issues with VRBO and the washing machine she was in constant communication. It was great to add linen to our booking this year. The appartment is a good size we are 2 families equalling 10 people. Ski in/ out was still possible even in April Good sized rooms with plenty of views of the slops outside. Nicole added items to the kitchen from our last stay which made things even easier."

"My husband, two young kids (5 & 3), and myself stayed here bc compared to the hotels we thought it was a good deal. However there are lots of extra costs that don’t make it so. Nor is it entirely convenient as you have to walk quite a bit with your skis to get to the slopes. Sheets/towels aren’t provided so that will run you about 120€ extra. Then there is the issue of cleaning. We cleaned for hours the morning we checked out only to be charged a 100€ cleaning fee bc there were some minor issues...

"The apartment is well positioned just opposite the bus terminus and entry to the commercial area. To access the piste exit the apartment turn left and in about 100m you can access a blue piste that leads quickly to the main green run on the front of the resort. For the ski schools its a two minute walk to the right down hill. There were 11 of us in the apartment which felt about right. There are 14 beds but two of the rooms are very small with triple bunks. "Lovely flat with ski locker, only takes a few minutes to walk to and from the slopes! Has everything you need and is in a great location in the village. There is no wifi in the flat and it was dusty as we were the first people to stay for the season but would happily stay here again!"

"I was really pleased with our choice of Le Chamois D’Or. It is ideally located near the bottom of the magic carpet and Pioneers chair lift and really is ski in/out. The room was spacious and extremely well equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen. We even had a balcony overlooking the piste. "I was there in the final week of the season, with the Residence mostly full, the hotel section closed, and minimal staff (Pierre really was our knight in shining armour), but the experience was still excellent. "Great apartment which easily accommodated seven friends. Good sized rooms and communal area with large dinning table. Good kitchen facilities including dishwasher and three toilet/shower rooms. Great location for the bars and restaurants and access to the slopes, it is possible to ski back to the front of the apartment block. Lifts to the block are very busy and often had to wait. "The property manager, Chantal, was extremely helpful throughout, always responding quickly to any questions before and during our visit. The property itself was spacious and homely with plenty of room for our party of 6, each couple was able to have their own bedroom. "Lovely apartment that looks right out onto the slopes. Very well decorated and equipped with everything you need - all tastefully done. Great position meant it was super easy to ski out to ski school in the mornings and a short walk to the shops/restaurants. Noisy some nights due to the fast food outlet directly below but friends were very jealous of the apartment when compared to their similar price properties further away. Be aware you have to book dinner even though its a buffet, we weren't told about this and went to the buffet 2 nights got sat fine then rest of the nights had a 45 min -1 hour wait, after skiing you are definitely tired and don't want to be waiting to eat.
