"We stayed here two nights. We are Americans used to boring, run-of-the-mill hotels with no character and neutral staff who don’t like the guests. This was a lovely break from our norm. Everyone was super friendly, desirous to make our stay happy and give recommendations. The ceilings were super high in our room overlooking the bay, with a chandelier and lovely paint color. It felt like being in an early 1900’s great house. They have a gardener who comes to create gorgeous flowers and trees over 3 different terraces where you can go sit outside to eat or sip wine at sunset. The area in general is like the rest of Valparaiso with some dirt and grunge, but stepping into this hotel was like a most lovely sanctuary. Highly recommend. They lock the gate getting in and out and recognize you by face so there is no fear of random people coming off the street. This may be normal in South America but we noted it as the whole place felt and seemed very secure. They helped us get a taxi for our trip to the vineyards as well, which was nice. "

"My favorite place to stay when visiting Old Valparaiso. The hotel is well located and staff is friendly. Rooms are simple but comfy and quiet. And the restaurant is a great place to chill and enjoy the view. "

"The Hotel Boutique 17 is a wonderful place. I cannot say enough good about it. The entire staff is great, from the front desk to the cleaning personel to the waiters at the restaurant. They are compitent and pleasant. The restaurant /bar has the best view in town and really good food. And the rooms are spacios, clean, and comfortable. I wish I had stayed there a month"

Lots of good restaurants nearby, and the street art! I would come back to Valparaiso just to stay at this hotel."

"The staff at this hotel (like all staff we met in Chile) was stellar - helpful and friendly, super eager to solve any issue that came up or help us figure out how to get where we needed to go. The location is great and the hotel itself is cute. Our biggest complaint was the lack of ANY mechanism in the room to hang clothes. There were no hooks, no closet, nothing - we ended up fashioning a makeshift system to hang things so our stuff wasn't in a pile on the floor (there weren't even suitcase stands!) There was one small dresser, but when you are traveling you generally want to air things out and de-wrinkle, so it wasn't helpful. Otherwise, it was a great stay. We loved the outdoor seats upstairs where we had our morning coffee - great views of the city!"
