For the savings, I would probably stay in the budget Ibis again because it had everything I needed and it was right across from the train station. "Absolutely amazing evening meal, a gourmet delight. We had the 'plats' but several mid courses, amuse-bouches etc arrived too and everything was delicious. The room was small though and very little hot shower water in the morning (although tap water was hot). Breakfast was okay but not special."

"Takes some knowledge about getting around in old French towns with their little streets which are not well signed and in the case of Le Puy have a lot of hills to maneuver. So there was a learning curve the 1st couple days. And parking is a challenge. But, in the end the challenges are well worth working through. The apartment is very nice, clean, feels fairly new. The bed is comfortable (and that is coming from my wife who is tough to please)."
