"We just had an overnight stay in this all inclusive hotel due to the President closing most hotels the following day due to coronavirus. We had a ‘bungalow’ room on the ground floor, facing the sea with a lovely view. The location was great – right on a narrow strip of golden sand with a beautiful turquoise sea. "We had a great time at the beach. It was beautiful and I would go back to the area just for that. Generally Cuba is beautiful and the people were very friendly. In Veradero itself we did run into a scammy horse cart driver who told us 10 cuc for a 3 km ride to a market and then tried to charge 10 each for 5 of us. "I'm one to stay in basic hostels in shady corners of the world and this is the worst hotel rooms I've stayed in. It's dilapidated, smells of damp and musk and on arrival there were many live and dead mosquitoes over the room and bathroom.
