The food is made with love. There are monkeys, birds of every kind, frogs and his knowledge of these animals is very impressive. You will feel like you are part of his family. "This was an amazing area for birding, either on a tour or just sitting on the patio. Staff was very accommodating and especially helpful when constant rains caused flooding in the river. Our living quarters were roomy although beds were quite firm. The property is several miles from Puerto Viejo, the nearest town so transportation is a little difficult without a car (but taxis are available). All roads n all, our stay here was great!"

"Picked this place for location. But it’s outdated and an older hotel. Staff barely speaks English but were VERY friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was great. Nice pool in the property. Restaurant/bar next door with night time karaoke if you’re in to that. AC worked GREAT. Rooms were spacious but need updating. The bathroom lacked a mirror, so ladies must use the mirror in the bedroom area. But great price and if you’re only there to sleep, worth it. Great location close to other sight...

"Large property - suffered from recent flooding when I was there. Saw a lot of interesting birds and other wild life on the property. The rooms were large - but the space was not well utilized. I had the impression that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that was overdue. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The food was OK."
