"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"The staff were great, super friendly and we were made to feel comfortable straight away with a fresh hot face towel and a cup of tea, even got a free welcome head massage. Everyone was helpful with places to go as well as recommendations for the next stop of our trip. Your also next to the Grand Hotel opposite Victoria park so location is great but the thing letting the hotel down was the building needs a refurb. Bathroom door didn't shut as the wood had bowed, paint on the walls and ceiling...

"The staff were extremely slow and never listened. Multiple occasions where I ordered something from room service or in the bar, and then had to chase staff 40 minutes later. It was easier to go to reception and get it myself. I tried organising a taxi for when I checked out the next day - reception staff were incapable. Very disappointing. "

"Lovely old bungalow. The butler service we had was exceptional. It’s cold at night so fires in rooms & hot water bottles in bed at night. Food really good. They don’t have a drink license so happy to serve your own. I just recommend you keep your gin in your room rather in their fridge. "
