You cannot be in a more central location than this. It is at an intersection near the middle of the main shopping / dining pedestrian walkway that is always busy with people, and St. Stephan's Cathedral is right beside it. Walkable to many other sights, restaurants, and other districts. The hotel itself is first class, maybe not the most spacious or updated, but in great condition. The excellent breakfast buffet is a great way to start each day, but there is also an extremely popular and excellent cafe right next door. The hotel has 2 restaurants, and I wish someone had told us that they are quite in demand, particularly the one toward the top with the beautiful views, so that we could have made an advance reservation (it was all full for the 3 days we stayed). We were a family of 4 staying in a 2 queen bed room (we hear all rooms have 2 queens), and there was plenty of space for us.

Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Very helpful with directions and let us store our luggage and check out late. Only downfall was the restaurant staff were all very rude and the breakfast Buffet was terrible. We went to the rooftop to see it and grab a drink before dinner. They had a staff member waiting by the elevator who asked us if we had a reservation. When we said no and that we were just seeing the view he pushed the elevator button and closed the door on us and sent us back down! It was Xmas. Have some joy. Would stay again for location and hotel staff. Avoid both restaurants though.

Hotel Royal is in the heart of Vienna right next to St Stephens Cathedral. It has two wonderful restaurants, one on the top floor with a roof top view of the city and cathedral. Our room was clean and comfortable with a well stocked mini bar. The front desk and bell staff were friendly and helpful. There is a taxi stand right outside the hotel and the best shopping in Vienna is just steps away!

Located in tourist central, so there was noise from the street till the wee hours. Near the U bahn so that was convenient. Daniel at the front desk was truly helpful and pleasant.
