"It felt like going back in time, but in the end that ended up being the best thing. Even with an island wide power outage this property could run as usual. The fact that they do not rely heavily on modern day tech works to their advantage. As you walk in , you feel the sense of serene escape. Surrounded by nature and with amazing views is a great way to spend a weekend getaway. The hotel is not heavy on the amenities, so if you are looking for high end hair and body products or a luxury pool/spa, look elsewhere. There is great food on the island of vieques and so many fun things to do, you will spend most of the day exploring and little time at the hotel. We loved how clean everything was in our room and the views from the balcony were amazing. If you come visit, make sure to book your bio bay tour well in advanced and on a night where there is no moon. I also recommend renting a car for ease of travel around the island. Overall, we loved our stay at Sea Gate. The only thing we could do without was the rooster that would crow at first light and all day after that..lol "
