The best part of our cabin is the breathtaking mountain views, sitting at nearly 3,500 feet elevation in Vilas, NC! The location is fantastic, just minutes from downtown Boone, Appalachian State University, Valle Crucis, Blowing Rock and two ski resorts. Sitting on one acre on the side of a mountain in the woods, Cloud Nine is peaceful and secluded, but not too remote. Retreat to the mountains for a peaceful getaway or a family vacation.

The space:

Make yourself at home in our cozy cabin that is big enough to sleep 8. Upstairs you will find a king suite with a private bathroom and the loft which has a beautiful queen size bed and pull out futon. The main level has a king suite with a private bathroom as well as private access to the deck and hot tub. The rest of the main floor is open concept with high ceilings in the living room. The dining room is adjacent and has a table big enough for everyone. We also have a washer/dryer and provide laundry detergent for your use. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need to make a home-cooked meal! We provide a drip coffee maker and Keurig. Enjoy your morning cup of joe or tea on our wrap-around deck and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the mountains! The deck has a fire table, several chairs, and a propane grill for your use.

We have supplied the cabin with fresh bedding and bath linens to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Cloud Nine is equipped with three smart TVs so you may log into your own streaming accounts; one in the living room and the other in the loft area. We also have a gas log fireplace in the main living area.

Our cabin is centrally located in the high country, just outside of Boone in Vilas. No matter the season, there are many activities to do outside to soak up the mountain experience. We are a short drive away from many hiking trails, three different ski mountains and fishing. Spend your days shopping in boutique stores on King Street in Boone or in downtown Blowing Rock. Check out the wide variety of breweries and locally owned restaurants. No matter your interests, there is something for everyone to do. Or just hang out on our deck and enjoy the views!

Guest access:
There is an electronic keypad entry on front door, where you and your family will have a unique, custom code for the duration of your stay. This allows for contactless check-in/check-out and removes the hassle of juggling keys.

**IMPORTANT: Our cabin has a shared driveway with two other cabins and it is steep (however, it flattens out at the top with ample parking that fits four vehicles comfortably). The cabin sits near the top of Willow Mountain Drive, which is a steep, gravel road with some sharp turns. In winter months, 4x4 OR AWD VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED to access the cabin (tire chains are also advised in icy conditions). In summer months, FWD is sufficient. Trust us, though — the views at the top are worth the climb! **

Apologies, no pets allowed, except certified service animals. (We have pet allergies in our family.)

We do have two (2) OUTDOOR-only security cameras located at the front door & driveway. These are strictly for safety & security and are not monitored unless a safety issue arises or property rules are breached.
