"I was volunteering in Lourdes for 5 days and needed a reasonably priced place to stay. The Villa Mariale was the best price. I realised that I had stayed there some years before, when it was called something else. It hasn’t changed much, but at least, this time bath towels were included. "We had a fantastic holiday! Our hosts were attentive, accommodating and engaged us in the local community. After a few hours we felt very much relaxed, welcomed and at home! It was brilliant swimmming everyday in the pool and the numerous sitting areas allowed you shade and/or panoramic sun! Our children loved the little river at the end of the lane and were mezmorised by the Dragonflies and lizards. The BBQ was brilliant and the local restaurants were fab! "The property has not been maintained or checked for cleanliness prior to occupation. Mould on surface of dinner plates, bowls requiring cleaning prior to use. Strong odor of urine in living room, dank smell from kitchen drain, mold . At check-in we were told to purchase our own toilet paper! No paper towels either.Mosquito infested outdoor sitting area precluded its use and no screens on any windows or doors."
