Built with sustainably sourced local native timbers, natural furnishings, solar powered and filtered rain water collection, organic gardens. Beaconstone offers a truly green off the grid holiday surrounded by native flora and fauna.
The Mountain view Hut boasts fabulous views from your comfy queen bed; made from natural latex and organic NZ wool.
Charleston is 5 minutes south for Underworld adventure caving and rafting; take a ride on the rain forest train to see the amazing display of glow worms. Super well stocked off grid cabin, overlooking a valley. Hammocks and bbq on deck with lots of cooking supplies. Cabin is beautifully decorated with books and games. Trails down to the river and a beautiful look out spot! Sunset - gorgeous! Really loved it! Host warm and friendly and has a home close by. One of my favorite stays on the South Island!

Amazing off grid but comfortable stay
A very well made and looked after cabin in the middle of the bush, with everything you need! We had a very comfortable stay and loved the bushwalk down to the river. Very friendly hosts and sweet doggies too! We’ll definitely come back (and will bring more mozzie/sandfly repellent!)

Totally awesome place would go back in a heart beat we had a great time as there is plenty to do in that area. Just one thing, take plenty of mosquito repellent as you will need it. However apart from that this place has everything you will ever need so we would highly recommend a stay their.

Sweet chill-out spot on the West Coast
Had a great stay and ended up adding 3 nights to our booking. Hosts are great - relaxed and welcoming. Swimming hole close by and really well positioned to explore the Charleston - Westport area coastline, rivers and hills. So much to do in this area in the outdoors and the weather was mint as it often is on the coast. The cabin is a lovely simple space - slept heaps :-) We will be back for sure.

Beautifully made cabin , very clean, everything we needed but didnt realise how close to the driveway of owners house and how far to get to amenities block from our spot when booking. But the view from the cabin and outside seating was amazing and still very private feeling! Owner was lovely and friendly.
