Heaven on Earth
Beautiful landscape with million dollar views. A great place to relax and see the beauty in nature with family and friends. So much to do from canoing, hiking, or just sit and relax on the porch and listen to the sparrows. Beautiful spacious cabin with lots of space to accommodate guests. This property will not disappoint. Highly recommend!!

Amazing rural getaway
Our stay at Dean & Kari's cabin in Walhonding was so wonderful! It was a truly serene escape in the Ohio countryside. While it was set in a quiet, rural area, it was a convenient 15-minute drive from the town of Mount Vernon where we could buy groceries and go out to dinner. The property itself provided lovely scenery with its rolling hills and farm views. Being able to explore the grounds via golf cart was so nice! The outdoor spaces like the patio and balcony allowed for relaxing amid the natural surroundings. Inside, the home had nice amenities including a dedicated Netflix account and Wi-Fi. We had everything we needed! What made the experience especially enjoyable was the attentive host, Dean. He was welcoming and attentive and was eager to make sure we had everything needed for a pleasant stay. For those seeking a peaceful getaway in a picturesque rural setting, this rental is an excellent choice. The tranquility allowed for true relaxation and disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. My only regret was not being able to stay longer.

Amazing stay!
We had the best long weekend with family- the house comes with beautiful views, hundreds of acres, and even golf carts (have to pay for them daily though). The owner, Dean, was extremely courteous and warm welcoming! They had the house staged with beverages, snacks, and bakery. They even checked in and were very inviting. We would definitely recommend staying here and will be returning.

We had a great New Year’s Eve
Well-appointed cabin that’s remote, but not off-grid. We were able to ring in the New Year with peace and quiet as well as Netflix. Large kitchen was stocked with supplies- just bring your own ingredients and feed a family with ease. Family Dollar is up the road if you forget any essentials. Hot tub is enclosed with enough climate control options to enjoy year-round. Hosts were readily accessible by text and gave excellent guidance to get us to the destination.

Holiday Getaway
It was the perfect getaway forn our family of 4 which includes our 2 adult children and 2 furbabies. We were blessed with unseasonably warm weather and were able to enjoy the beautiful property and decks. We will have to return for a longer stay in the spring!

Family Weekend at Kenyon College
We were lucky to find this property for our family of four (2 parents and 2 college-aged students) to stay for Family Weekend at Kenyon. Those of you looking for a place to stay know how hard it can be to find a place. The location is just under 20 minutes from Kenyon - just down 229. It is a very easy ride on country roads - you just have to keep an eye out for deer, especially during the fall. There is a Dollar Store that carries a lot of groceries and a Friendly food store that is open during the day that has baked items, a deli, fruit, veggies, and other things. These are about 5 minutes from the cabin. We cooked our breakfasts and one dinner during our 3-night stay. The cabin is well equipped as are the bathrooms. The bedding is comfortable and there is a Roku for the TV. The cabin is located on 140 acres with several ponds, access to golf carts for an additional minimal charge, and a hot tub. The owners of the cabin met us for check-in to show us some things and were available if we needed them. The cabin is well-maintained and clean. There is a full bathroom and bedroom on the main floor. Upstairs there is a large loft with a full bathroom. There are two queen beds on both sides of the bathroom and a sitting area - it is very cozy. There are several steps to get up to the loft area. For families with Kenyon students, this may be just the place for you and your student to reconnect, restore, and rejuvenate.

Endless views in a country paradise!
If you get a chance to experience this oasis in Amish Country, go for it! The hosts are above & beyond! The cabin is comfortable & charming with everything you need, and the acreage & ponds provide plenty of natural beauty & places to explore. We had the bonus of the harvest moon and never got tired of the endless views! Our dog Yogi had the time of his life🐾♥️

Perfect Getaway
Wow. Beautiful and unique property. Words cannot express. Tons of space to explore. My two teen boys, 16, who are usually glued to their video games, were out swimming, canoeing, golf carting, climbing down the ravine, exploring caverns, building campfires-it was AWESOME! The cabin was also wonderful and was the perfect place to wind down from an adventurous day. The hot tub was great, especially because it is in it's own, separate little building. The location is perfect, too, because it's within driving distance to many little Amish towns as well as Mt Vernon, and Mohican. Although, if you didn't want to travel at all, the grounds of the property itself would keep you plenty busy with things to do. Dean and Kari were wonderful, accommodating and gracious hosts. We had a fantastic time and will be coming back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
