Great Attention to Detail
Amy and her family have a very nice property to use. Their attention to detail is the best we have seen. My wife has been taking a summer "Up North" vacation for over 50 years. We decided to try Park Rapids this year and we are glad we are back. It is a great place to spend a week, lots to do and plenty of local amenities. Back to Amy and her family, the place is very well appointed and everything is well thought out. You can see they take pride in what they are offering you and your family to use. We highly recommend a stay with them.

Wonderful beyond Imagination!!
Our first impressions of this lake house did not disappoint as we entered this beautiful home!! Everything that one could possibly need plus much more were already at the house!! The grounds were very well taken care of, the beach provided hours of entertainment for our children and they loved the log for their sleeping area! We can’t wait to stay here again next summer!!

Perfect Week at Pickeral Hideaway!
Our family had a wonderful week at Pickeral Hideaway! Amy and Diane were great hosts, they were very responsive and fun to talk with. The house was awesome, everything we could have expected and more! The house and property were immaculate. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, etc. We used the grill several times during our stay. The toy room upstairs was great for the kids. I sat in the screened in porch every day just watching the lake and wildlife. There were so many things for everyone of all ages to do, water toys, kayaks, paddle boards, a pedal boat, fishing off the dock, and on and on. We rented the pontoon for the week; it was a hit as well. Upon arrival, Amy gave us a tour of the lake which was nice. The sandy beach was a hit with the kids. Park Rapids is a neat town, there are several stores to get groceries and supplies. There is a lot of local shopping options downtown, and some larger chain stores as well. If ice cream and candy is appealing, you will certainly want to go downtown, we did (twice)! Itasca State Park is about a 30-minute drive north. It is worth the trip to see where the Mississippi River begins. This was the 6th year of our family taking a trip like this, somewhere different each time. Each year we spend the last day thinking of pros and cons for the review. We could not come up with anything negative. Everything was perfect and we hope to come back!!

Perfect Family Vacation
This property is impressive, very clean, cabin friendly furnishing, kitchen has everything, screened porch was bug friendly and several bedrooms for children and adults. The property was on Pickerel Lake. They provided many games, firewood for campfires, and fun water toys for all ages (6-60's). We rented the pontoon and everyone enjoyed cruising, fishing, sunset rides, etc. The landlord was friendly & great to answer questions. We enjoyed meeting them and fit right in with us. Thank for a wonderful family vacation from all of us !!!

Another Wonderful Vacation
This was our second stay at Pickerel Hideaway. Three generations enjoyed the spectacular views, the spacious property and the true UpNorth feeling the cabin has. The three floors including lots of places to sleep, a well -stocked kitchen, three full bathrooms, and many more amenities make this cabin a perfect place to stay. We were able to catch enough fish for a delicious fish dinner. Our fourteen year old grandson actually caught a record size bass and a huge walleye! We loved having campfires on the hill overlooking the lake. This year we enjoyed using the paddleboat in addition to the kayaks and paddleboards. The pontoon was a special addition and we enjoyed several quiet and peaceful rides at night. Amy is an amazing host, and it was so special that we were able to talk to her.

We had a great stay at Pickerel Hideaway! Everything we needed plus more was included. Amy was accommodating and nearby if we needed anything. The fishing was great (for our catch & release crew) and many could be seen right off the dock. The swim areas and floating raft were great additions for everyone. The house was clean, organized, and large enough for our large group.

Everything you could wish for to enjoy lake life!
Our three generation family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pickerel Hideaway. We got wonderful use out of the very generous selection of lake toys, from sand toys for the kids, paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boat and pontoon for the whole family. The water is super clean and clear. We had our choice of fire pits to star gaze each night and enjoy one another’s company. The kitchen had everything we could have asked for when it came to meal preparation, and then some! A dishwasher would have been appreciated but we had enough adults to bond over the sink! The property was extremely clean and had every little thing we needed for our stay. The play area upstairs was a huge hit with our three 8 to 3 year old kids and we all enjoyed the huge selection of board games! The tvs weren’t switched on all weekend and weren’t even asked for, there was so much to keep everybody entertained. I would highly recommend this gem to any group looking to enjoy everything lake life has to offer, in the best of settings.

We have stayed at a few vrbo's this by far was the cleanest, well stocked place we have ever stayed. I couldn't think of one thing they missed. They have absolutely everything needed from babies to adults. We had a wide age range from 4-83 everyone had a great time. The upstairs play room was a hit with the twin 4 yr olds we had. The water "toys" were a huge hit with our 14 and 21 year old kids. There was stuff for everyone. The house and property are imacculent. I can't say enough. This place was amazing. The host is super nice and very helpful. If we come back this way we would stay here again.

Great family destination on Pickerel Lake - a good time was had by all!
Our extended family spent an amazing week at Pickerel Hideaway! The house is super comfortable for a multi-generational family -- plenty of places to spread out for relaxation, eating and sleeping. Gorgeous, well-equipped home on a very quiet lake with amazing views of the lake and trees. Immaculately clean and well-cared for - even the porch and deck were spotless! We would definitely stay here again! The sandy beach and deeper swim area off the dock were nice for our younger and older swimmers. We made good use of the water & beach toys provided and spent hours on the waterfront every day. Great sun exposure throughout the day - there was never a bad time to be out! The water temp was quite nice late in the late summer -- even out in the middle of the lake. And we really enjoyed exploring the far reaches of the lake from the large and comfy pontoon boat! As other reviews mention, the loft play area and toys were an absolute treasure trove for our small kids, and provided a reprieve for quieter play times in between being outdoors. They couldn't get enough of the kitchens and were constantly engaged in "cooking dinner" for everyone, reading the books, pushing dollies in the little stroller, and building train tracks & legos. The house is really solidly built and accommodating for multiple sleep schedules -- a huge plus for kids on nap schedules and adults needing to catch up on sleep! There seemed to be beds for miles, with plenty of soft and firm mattress options for every back. It was also really nice to have so many full bathrooms (plus the outdoor shower) available for our larger family. We definitely made use of the spice cabinet -- a really nice touch for culinarily-minded families who don't want to buy new batches of spices for short lake stays -- and toured each of the separate eating areas multiple times -- kitchen peninsula, dining table, porch, deck, picnic table! We even enjoyed a dinner of fried fish (crappies), all expertly caught by our 5-year-old son and cooked over the open fire pit! T, W, A, & E Khan
