SKY, HIKE, STARGAZE, FOREST BATH, SWIM BY STREAM IN THE SHAWANGUNK MOUNTAIN

Blessedly far from the everyday, LE HIDEAWAY SUBLIME lies nestled in the woody hills of the Shawangunk mountains. A secret oasis, with galore signs of human and nature histories, beckoning discovery. Built on a slight elevation, far from road, neighbors and traffic, LE HIDEAWAY SUBLIME promises instant immersion and a spiritual experience in green, silent nature, a majestic panorama, quaint cozy comfort, and plenty options for indoor and outdoor fun.

Here lies a soothing, yearlong CENTRALLY HEATED sanctuary. At the edge of a state park forest, the property is open, UNFENCED, bordered by giant, lush trees; a STREAM meanders along the park side (West). Pristine leafy evergreens, glistening waterfalls, rocks, boulders, historic stonewalls, sky-high treetops wield spectacular sunsets and dramatic moonlights. Your sleep is lulled by rushing water, frogs, birds, cicadas or singing bats.

Enjoy seasonal swims in a 15X30 ABOVE-GROUND HEATED POOL, with sunbathing, grilling, and chilling on the spacious pool deck, in the privacy of a tree wall of magnificent tall trees, lilac bushes and boulders.

You get an EXCLUSIVE RIGHT-OF-WAY to HIKE the nearby PARK TRAILS. No driving needed: simply cross our very own footbridge. Hike, bike or X-country SKY up the 2000-ft high mountain. The prize is a pristine glacier LAKE you can also drive to, through the MINNEWASKA STATE PARK. You could even find edible mushrooms.

LE HIDEAWAY SUBLIME cottage is a 1900th log-and-rock stand-alone structure, a sunny and spacious 1500 sft , 2-story house that was fully revamped and renovated. It sleeps FOUR adults, with: 7 rooms (including 2 bedrooms), 2 lounging areas (including living room with large L sofa), a dining area with 1 large glass-top table and chairs that seat 8 to 10, 2 separate study spaces with desk, 2 wood stoves, 4 patio glass- pane doors.

A vast, recently remodeled KITCHEN has cathedral ceilings, bow windows, granite countertops, high-end appliances, well appointed kitchenware, and a separate entrance onto giant bamboos, creating an inviting space for team cooking and eat-in.

A high-end WASHER/DRYER tower is niched in an alcove on the ground floor.

A BBQ GRILL (gas-powered), chimes, a large deck awning overseeing the pool, a hammock, tables, chairs, benches, and lounging chairs complete the contemplative journey. A sprawling lawn on the South side, tree-lined pathways and rocks on the Northern side, stone steps, lush bamboos, antique urns, a wrap-around rustic porch, a large deck surrounds the pool, a balcony overlooks waters and woods, and a garden cabana/artist studio, punctuate walks around the property.

Cathedral-ceilings, skylights, pinewood paneling, and oversized windows instill a peaceful, Scandinavian flair, complementing the owner’s collection from old-world heritage, distant travels, and visual artistry. Ethnic arts and textiles, vintage furniture, wood panels, exposed beams and bricks, and classic landscaping details, complete the scene for a cozy, romantic, world all its own.

PETS, OVERNIGHT GUESTS, AND PARTIES/EVENTS, MUST BE PRE-APPROVED.

CHILDREN ARE WELCOME BUT MUST BE WEAR PROPER ATTIRE, AND MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT INDOOR AND OUTDOOR HAZARDS, POTENTIAL ENCOUNTERS WITH WILDLIFE AND NATURE, ON UNFENCED PROPERTY, DRIVEWAY, FOOTBRIDGE AND GARDEN SHEDS.

Our second trip to Sylvie's
We stayed in Sylvie's house for a week in August, and loved it so much that we booked five nights for my husband's birthday in December. Wonderful again. We even had snow! Thankfully, it did not impede our ability to drive around the area. We went to the market several times, as well as to a terrific butcher shop -- Barb's Butchery -- in Beacon. (Love cooking in Sylvie's roomy kitchen.) We even drove to Mohonk Mountain House for lunch & a massage. Otherwise, we spent our time taking walks and relaxing in the house. Sylvie couldn't meet us this time, but her lovely neighbor showed us into the house, and tutored us on how to use the wood stoves. It was another much-needed, quiet, cozy break from city life. (Oh -- and we saw one owl and several deer.) Would definitely come again!

A week of quiet, calm and walks in the woods
Sylvie's house was just what my husband and I needed: it's comfortable, with lovely furnishings and -- very important --a well-appointed kitchen. The wrap-around porch is the perfect place to have tea -- and say hi to the deer, hummingbirds, chipmunks and woodpeckers who frequently came by. We spent most afternoons in the pool, and also went for walks in the nearby park. Sylvie was great. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know about the property, and gave us tips on grocery shopping and the best place to get a pizza. She was always available via text & phone, if we had any questions. I could go on, but suffice to say to we loved every minute of our stay and would definitely come back.

NYC Escape
Sylvie is an excellent communicator and was extremely accommodating. Our kids loved the pool and were in it on a near constant basis. It provided welcome cooling relief during this crazy hot stretch of summer we've been having. The location was excellent and good proximity to friends of ours in Gardiner, so was perfect for visiting with them as well. Loads of things to see and do around the property itself, including tons of animals, which our kids loved pointing out and seeing-deer, fox and groundhog sightings were novelties to our City kids :) Definitely a beautiful property.

Amazing place to get away!
First off, Sylvie greeted us at the door when we arrived and gave us a quick tour to help us feel a little more comfortable and show us were important things were. The property is great, it's quiet, private, and peaceful. My wife and I barely left the property although there are plenty of trails and things to do outdoors nearby! The pool was where we spent most of our long weekend. It being heated was great for those late night swims. Our dogs loved going on walks around the back yard and even took a trip down to the creek for a dip. We may very well be back to this VRBO again. Sylvie, my wife would love to stay in contact with you about your property. We both loved it and are thinking about making it a regular vacation spot for us! Thank you for your hospitality and allowing us to experience your home!

Amazing House Surrounded by Nature
Everything about this stay was exceptional. Sylvie is very kind and thoughtful. The house is very cute and cozy. Great kitchen, plenty of living space and very cozy fire places. The pool is nice and clean and warm. However, the best thing about this house is the surrounding! I’ve never seen more animals; gophers, deer, an owl, chipmunks, we even saw a turkey with 2 babies! It’s close to a bunch of nature hikes, with my personal favorite: Minnewaska State Park Reserve. It was only 20 min away and truly breathtaking! It’s a great place for any nature lovers, or even just anyone looking to get away from it all and hang out by a nice pool. I will definitely consider coming back in the future!

A Wonderful Getaway
My family, husband and 2 boys ages 7 & 10, have been very busy working and were needing a much deserving getaway. I went looking for some peace, quiet and beauty on VRBO. Sylvie's place was exactly what we wanted and needed! Sylvie waited upon our arrival, showed us everything we might need to know, and couldn't have been more generous. Nestled on a dead end, the only things "bothering" us were dancing trees, a babbling creek, happy wildlife and intoxicating forest quiet. Her house is clean, spacious, warm, and so inviting. You will love having morning coffee by the creek, meals on the outdoor porch and watching your children squealing in delight in the pool. Only steps from a trail, and many other nearby sights, this location is perfect! We will be back again! Thank you so much Sylvie!

Nice getaway
I had a great time at this house. The yard was private and had a stream going through it which was so nice to hear while eating outside, laying in my hammock and sleeping. I also loved the wind chimes in the yard. The inside of the house was really nice and unique and the kitchen was well appointed. It's close to Minnewaska and New Paltz. I enjoyed the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. I'd definitely stay here again.

Secluded getaway
My husband and I were looking for a secluded spot for a romantic getaway from the kids, and this property did not disappoint. While the home could benefit from some TLC the property itself was 100% private. Due to weather we weren’t able to really enjoy the pool, but we still thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch and enjoying nature. In fact, the rain made for wonderful ambiance as it added to the rushing sound of the river in the back yard! There’s also a private trail across the river to add to the experience. Would love to come back with the kids so they can enjoy the trails, ample space to run around, and see the deer who visited frequently.

Amazing find!
This is a gem. The property was gorgeous, and had amazing access to hiking trails through the backyard. The pool was heated to a temperature that my kids were in there for hours. Additionally, despite the seclusion of the property the nearby towns are not far off and adorable with a multitude of things to do-if we had wanted to leave the property (we barely did!) The house itself was sparkling clean and very well cared for. It had much more personality than your typical IKEA-filled rental. The kitchen was well-equipped with all of the essentials and we were able to easily cook all of our meals here, the grill was nice as well. The beds were also very comfortable, something I haven't found in all rental properties. Sylvie was an exquisite host- extremely communicative, accommodating and well-informed on the area. It was an idyllic and relaxing stay, and such an easy trip from NYC.
