There is nothing like sitting back and relaxing in a cozy, tiny house Victoria retreat surrounded by acres of bushland where you can take leisure walks, interact with local wildlife, and opportunity to feed our farm animals.
The Space:
Treetops Farmstay 1 by Tiny Away is situated in Walmer, about a 1.5hr drive from Melbourne airport and just a 27-minute drive from Bendigo, renowned for its food and wine scene. The perfect off-grid escape is surrounded by bushland, neighbouring farmlands, and animals to keep you company. With vibrant markets, local shops, and towns such as Maldon, Golden Square, Kangaroo Flat, and Castlemaine Victoria.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with a convenient car parking space, an outdoor fire pit, split system air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
If you plan to spend your tiny house Victoria getaways here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Kindly be advised that this tiny house runs off an off-grid solar unit and a water tank. We advise guests to conserve energy and water during their stay. There is a backup generator that will switch on automatically when batteries are low.
- Please note that caravans and other tiny house guests may be on-site at the other end of the property. We kindly remind guests to respect the privacy and peace of other guests during their stay. Safety guidelines will be provided in the tiny house.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and are welcome to explore the property at their leisure.
We have friendly animals on the property, but for their safety, we kindly ask guests to not enter the fenced paddocks without the host's supervision or permission.

- Golden Square is a suburb of Bendigo, located west of the city centre where Bendigo Creek and Golden Gully meet.
- Kangaroo Flat is a city with many popular attractions like Stillwater Paddleboards. You can visit the stunning gardens at Rosalind Park in the centre of Bendigo.
- Castlemaine is a vibrant town renowned for its eclectic arts scene, gold rush history, and growing reputation as a fine food destination.
- Maldon Hotel is famous for its country pub meals and great service.
- Bendigo has great shopping centres in Bendigo Marketplace and Landsell Square. There is also a large variety of restaurants and wineries in the region.
- The Porcupine Village is a tourist attraction known for its historical background, which was a gold mining village back in 1850s. Maldon’s main street is full of boutiques and cafes serving local produce.

By public transport:
- Transport to Castlemaine or Bendigo comes at an extra cost with notice.
- Melbourne via train to Castlemaine - host can pick up by request with notice.
- Hits can offer free transport to and from Maldon with prior arrangements.

- No smoking inside, except in designated areas
- Solar-powered (off-grid unit with air-conditioning unit)

- Please be advised that we have friendly animals on the property
- Telstra has a good signal, and Optus has a weak signal; others have no signal
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet's droppings
- Pets need to be kept on a leash at all times as livestock is present on the property
- Please keep a safe distance from pets and farm animals as they are easily agitated
- Firewood costs $15 for a bag of firewood - subject to availability and fire restrictions
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Gentle Reminder for Guests (bringing in pets):
Kindly note, our property is frequented by kangaroos near the tiny house. We happily accommodate only one (1) dog per stay, but regret to inform you that cats are not permitted. For the comfort of all, please keep your dog on a leash if they tend to get easily excited. A friendly warning will be issued before considering any request to leave. Thank you for your understanding.
Farm guidelines
- Always remember to shut the gates before entering and leaving the paddocks
- Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without the land host's permission
- Please keep a safe distance from pets and farm animals as they are easily agitated
- We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health
Important note:
- Guests are advised to bring portable power banks in case of low power
- Guests are also advised to save energy to avoid running out of electricity
- Please charge your phone and electronics in advance in case of low-light days
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that gas BBQ grill and outdoor fire pit are not available during a total fire ban
- Guests are advised to save energy where possible to avoid running out of power especially when using the AC.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
