The pub is “tired” and caters mostly for workmen. There isn’t any hot food available (no breakfast availability) only sandwiches later in the day. Hosts didn’t have our booking as they don’t use Hotels.com and treat emails from them as “spam”. There wasn’t any Wi-Fi, free or otherwise and the room wasn’t serviced during our stay. Strangely we were told not to drink the tap water although we don’t know why.
Old style boozer with rooms above in a bit of a ram-shackle state. Very basic and in a state of disrepair in parts. Bathroom door only on by one hinge, bathroom with bare plaster board and lots of tools and cleaners trolleys in the hallways and a strange diy metal fire escape. Was unable to re enter the hotel to get something we forgot when we left early one morning. Despite this it was a cheap and cheerful place to stay.
Lovely traditional pub with a lovely warm welcome. We prefer a pub to a hotel and it suited our needs perfectly and we will definitely be going back to stay there.
