Birthday
We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok.

Disappointing.
Expecting old, period type rooms but not available due to renovation. Lift was not working which caused inconvenience to arthritis sufferer. Cooked breakfast was cold.

Under construction, but still a good property.
We were shocked to find that much of the hotel was covered in scaffolding, making it hard to find the hotel at dusk. We did find it, with the help of a local passer-by. Once inside, the refurbishment project was not very evident, and it was quite comfortable and nice. We enjoyed having a triple room, where our daughter had her own bed instead of a sofa-sleeper. The included breakfast was good, with made-to-order eggs. Location was very convenient, a short walk to train station and restaurants and shops in central Stratford-upon-Avon. All in all, it is a good hotel, and I'm sure it will be better when their project is done.

Not impressed with the Falcon Hotel
Extremely disappointed to find that half the hotel was closed for refurbishment. There was nothing on the website to indicate this and I would suggest that would be a negligent breach of the Misrepresentation Act. In addition, the bulb in a bedside lamp had failed and when asked to change it the reply was that the hotel had run out of bulbs. Even worse was the wash hand basin which was blocked so badly that it took fifteen minutes to empty. We didn’t both complaining because if they couldn’t change a light bulb there was no chance of the sink being repaired.
We certainly wouldn’t recommend the Falcon to anyone and we certainly won’t be returning the next time we visit Stratford-upon-Avon.

Comfortable Centrally Located Hotel
Very nice experience. Very comfortable room and bed. Lots of building work taking place right now so some of the communal areas were a little dusty and tired looking. Overall really enjoyed the hotel and would definitely return if in the area again. Would also recommend to friends.
Only negatives were parking issues, very few spaces and difficult to park if you did manage to get one.
Lack vegetarian option for full breakfast.
Communal areas looking a little tired in areas.
However would stay there again as very nice hotel overall
The hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment to the original Elizabethan building at the front. We stayed in the modern section, towards the back, whilst the renovations take place. It was fine. There was no disturbance from the building work. The staff were very pleasant. The room was spacious, clean warm and has a large window. However, not a spectacular view though not unpleasant. Breakfast was generous. The bar seemed a little pricey but probably not out of line with other similar places in Stratford upon Avon. A good nights sleep!

Falcon under change
The staff were excellent really helpful and always tried to please. Room was comfortable and clean. However, due to renovation facilities were dramatically reduced. A hotel we use regularly so we were very disappointed that we were not told of the renovation in progress. If we had known we most certainly would have chosen a different hotel on this occasion, so disappointed therefore in the price - think it was over priced.
Stayed at this hotel and was very happy. The staff were friendly and the room was clean with tea and coffee provided. The hotel is located in the town center which is ideal and the hotel has parking facilities. There is a major refurbishment going on but it did not in any way affect us.I would be happy to stay here again.

We were not informed about the extensive renovation programme and was not what we expected when we booked for my wife's 60th birthday visit to Stratford

Good hotel! Good location!
This hotel offers good, clean facilities in the shell of a traditional building. We stayed in the modern part as the older part is under renovation. A comfortable stay despite the upheaval. Great to have discount on the first round at the bar and good rates and availability of parking.

Hoping the interior of the old part of the hotel will not be ruined by the refurbishment or the name of the hotel changed
The location couldn't be better, directly opposite Shakespeare's 'New Place'.
The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment but this wasn't really a problem as we only spent a minimal time in our room (sleeping!) as there's lots to do in and around Stratford. There are also lots of eating places to suit all tastes.
Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, particularly considering the hotel is closing at the end of December for an extended period and presumably staff will be transferred to other hotels or lose their jobs.
Our room was large and spotlessly clean. Would recommend staying but you'd need to be quick!

Undergoing refurbishment but very enjoyable stay
We were aware of the refurb prior to our trip, so realised that this was reflected in the prices we paid & weren't disappointed by this. As we were staying Saturday & Sunday there were no building works taking place and we were not disturbed.
The rooms in the 60s block are somewhat dated & the windows and net curtains certainly below par, however they are perfectly clean & comfortable.
Breakfast was served in a lovely room in the old part of the hotel & was very good.
The communal areas downstairs were of a high standard and we were given a voucher for 15% off our first order of drinks.
We had no problem parking in the car park, even though the hotel was full on Saturday night.
Staff were all extremely helpful - especially good considering that they are all going to be made redundant in December!
All in all, great value for the price and a wonderful location in the centre of town.

Romantic weekend
Had a great overnight stay prior to golf society meet up. Excellent location and reasonable parking for a town centre hotel. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment, but they are maintaining high standards whilst this is ongoing.

We won't stay there again.
OK...so they are having a makeover and the exterior of the hotel is hidden by building work. They omitted to mention this and our taxi driver from Leamington Spa has to drop us off. We ask for a morning call we didn't get it and we had to be at The Other Place for 9/15 am. A rushed breakfast. We cannot have anything to eat on arrival ! We heartily wish we had booked elsewhere. It is not good to carry on your chatting in reception and ignore returning guests. The room is clean but shabby as is the rest of the hotel.

Great hotel and great location.
We arrived early on Friday and our room was ready so we had an early check in, we walked around town and found a lovely bistro to have lunch. We went to the theatre later in the evening but could only find one restaurant open when the play finished. All in all we had a great weekend.

Perfect location for exploring the sights, offers limited parking facilities. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Can't enter on food as we had all meal including breakfast in the town

Well located in Stratford, with parking
If you want a well located hotel with decent facilities then the Falcon fits the bill. Five minutes to the theaters, and pretty much anything in the centre of Stratford, makes this an easy choice. Breakfast was included in our rate, which was a plus, and pretty good. I'd stay again, and recommend to friends. When their extensive renovation is complete then I'd expect the experience to be further enhanced.
Great localization, nice hotel e lovely staff. Just few parking spaces, but I recommend Falcon Hotel for sure.

Disappointed
I chose this hotel for an overnight stay with my daughter whose birthday it was. I chose it because it was a beautiful Tudor building with a walled garden and I wanted my daughter to have a lovely surprise and enjoy something special during our visit to Stratford upon Avon. It was quite a shock and disappointment to find it was a building site, totally encased in scaffolding and plastic with only a few flower beds visible in the 'garden'. This was not shown on the website at the time of making the booking. Had I known this, I would not have booked to stay there. We did not choose to eat at the hotel as we did not fancy a celebration meal peering out of the windows at scaffolding and plastic. It would have been good if notification could have been sent to people booking before the website was changed to indicate that 'access to and visuals of the Tudor building are not currently available' with the opportunity of a full refund so that we had the choice to book elsewhere. I would most certainly have done so as I looked at a number of choices.
Istayed in Stratford because it was ideally located for what I planned to do. I stayed at the Falconm because I had stayed there before and I enjoyed that stay. The hotel is having a makeover, but that did not affect any aprt of my stay. If I stay in Stratford in the future, I will certainly look at staying at the Falcon because I find it ideal for my needs.

Well placed hotel in Stratford
The hotel was disappointing as the photograph of the hotel showed a Tudor black and white building. This part of the hotel was being renovated. Our room was in the hideous 1970s extension tagged onto the back of the hotel. The room was clean and basic. But had a view of the car park.
