Viang Thapae Resort really is an oasis in this very busy area of Chiang Mai. The resort looks like a tropical island. The rooms are very well appointed. I loved the decor! It was also very clean. The bed was comfortable and A/C was working. There is a small pool that's perfect to cool down on hot days. The staff is super friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was a basic continental style with a few Thai touches. Nothing to write home about, but good and conveniently located in the lovely dining area overlooking the pond. Note that the address will lead you to the back door, which is locked after hours. The front door is just around the corner. I would recommend management put up a sign with directions. Overall a great stay and very much recommended for individuals, couples, and families.

The spa services at this hotel were exceptional and extremely reasonably priced. My 2 1/2 hour treatment was the best service I’ve ever had and I’ve had many. The hospitality of everyone on the property was exceptional. The WiFi was a bit spotty yet who cares when you’re enjoying the beautiful setting. My only feedback was I ate dinner there twice which was good yet the piano player was a bit much for the setting…kind of loud and just not great. Something more low key perhaps an acoustic guitar player would more appealing be divine and I think people would be more drawn to the atmosphere.

Nice hotel! Good breakfast buffet, convenient location. Just wish I had booked directly for a better rate. This service marked up the rate quite a bit.

Beautiful property that felt like a quiet oasis. Room was spacious enough for our family of 5. Breakfast options ample and kids enjoyed the option to cool down in the pool. Staff were wonderful!

The staff are friendly and ver my helpful.i love the combination of Asian and colonial period design and ambience. Service was impeccable.
