The owner walked in on my girlfriend as she was lying on the couch, I was visiting my family so no car in driveway and she thought nobody was home, not good. The house had a bad odor, the the bed was terrible, was relived to get out of the house and back home. The hostess was very nice except for the home invasion part. I would not recommend this rental to anyone.

This property is one of the nicest we've ever stayed in -- clean, comfortable, and full of personality and small luxuries. Alyssa is a responsive, flexible, and friendly host, and she accommodated our special requests (late checkout, having a guest visit) without hesitation. We have two small dogs, so we loved that the home is a quiet, standalone building with total privacy, and that the yard is very safe with a good fence, no poison ivy, no old poop, and comfortable chairs for humans to sit and watch the dogs play. We also loved that the Lake County Forest Preserves Millennium Trail has a trailhead just steps away from the property; the house is near the edge of the neighborhood where it borders natural prairieland with wildflowers (and wildlife -- another dog walker warned us coyotes sometimes come out in the park after dark). The trail has both paved and gravel sections well suited to recreational cycling. We hope to come back for a longer visit next time!

Perfect Place for Relaxing after a long trip
My family and I spent the week driving and needed a comfortable place to spend our last two nights. This was the perfect spot. The house was close to what we needed. It was clean and comfortable for my family of 3. Alyssa was great at communicating how to get into the house and let us know anything about that house that we needed to know. The backyard was peaceful and a great place to spend some quiet time. There were drinks available in the refrigerator for use to enjoy and pantry items as well. I'm happy we were able to stay here as guests and if I'm in the area again, I would happily stay here.

Great location and host!
Great home and an even better host. The host is awesome at communicating even before the trip is close. She was always willing to answer any questions we may have had. The property was very neat and clean. The yard is fully fenced in and is a great place to end or begin your day with nice lawn furnishings and decor. There is a trail access that is a relaxing walk with lots of wildlife (in the summer at least when we were there) the neighborhood is friendly and quiet. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay.

Alyssa was a consummate host, generous and extremely communicative. It felt less like going into a stranger’s home and more like going to a family member’s. The home is small but cozy, and it worked great for a short weekend stay with my family and our pups. I would definitely stay again and would encourage you to do the same!

Perfect Small Cottage
I stayed here while visiting family and had my dogs. The cottage was super cute and stocked with anything and everything you could need, even “to-go” coffee cups which was really nice as I was departing. I had to work and the office in the basement was perfect. There is a nice trail/wildlife preserve right across the street so that was nice to get the dogs some exercise.

Chicago concert getaway
My wife and I had gotten concert tickets for a show at The Vic Theatre in Chicago. We needed a place to stay that would accommodate our three dogs. This house was perfect. We loved the layout of the house and the amenities. The house was comfy and interior decor was great. The home owner answered all my questions in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this listing. We may be planning a trip to Six Flags next year and would love to stay here again.

Charming cottage
Quaint cottage located in a quiet neighborhood. Fully stocked kitchen with “bonus” adult beverages supplied by owner. Although the boat pond was dirty, and no firewood was provided, the house was a nice place to land at the end of a busy summer day! The bed was comfortable. We didn’t use the nearby lake, but the owner did provide entrance wrist bands. Largest drawback was no laundry on premise. Despite that, we would defiantly use this vrbo again :)

Short title
No private pool. Laundry room is not accessible to guests. Both were listed under amenities so that could cause some confusion. Having said this, we found that Alyssa was very accommodating and responsive, the house was very clean and well organized. We loved the different themed rooms and little things that were provided like (creamer, granola bars, shampoo, mints) the fenced in backyard was a huge bonus for us having 2 dogs! The house is location is right across the street from the millennium trail. Restaurants, bar, local shops are within a 5 minute drive. We would definitely recommend this house to couples with pets.

Very unique place
House is very unique. On the small side but set up very well. Loved the back yard and fire pit. Alyssa was great to work with. Even set up exercise weights we wanted to use while staying there. The little touches she has done makes the stay special!!

Cute house conveniently located
My husband, two teenage kids and I stayed here for three nights along with our mini golden doodle. Alyssa thought of everything from some snacks, drinks in the fridge to doggie bones and pantry staples. Getting in and out was easy. The house is less than a mile away from a fantastic dog park as well. We will definitely be back!
