"This was perfect for a long weekend. We typically spend a lot of our time in Avon by the pier so this location was perfect for us. It was a slight tight fit because husband just *had* to bring several surf boards but it worked out just fine. Kitchen was stocked well and host was very informative of how to use the space the best. We would definitely stay again! "

"We loved everything about our stay here. The property is even better than advertised - spacious, beautifully decorated, so comfortable...you can tell this isn't just an income property for Hilary and David but a true passion project. They love this home and want their guests to love it too. So many thoughtful touches, even including what I came to think of as the "magic junk drawer" in the kitchen where if you found yourself needing something (the charger plug you forgot to bring, a battery, a magnifying glass), it would "magically" appear there. The location is amazing. I don't think you can get closer to the beach anywhere else in Rodanthe - those ocean views from nearly every spot in the house were a miracle. Being next to Rodanthe Pier we just loved - we visited often. The people there, including the owners, were SO friendly. In fact, when my car battery died the day we were to check out and I asked Hilary for a recommendation of who to call, she called the owner of the pier, who had someone over with jumper cables almost before we were off the phone. ;-) David drove down HOURS the day we checked in to double check on the pool and hot tub system, as the maintenance person had told him there MIGHT be an issue (easily solved, and David was so cheerful and kind as if he hadn't just driven hours for a 20-minute once over to ensure our holiday was perfect). Again, you can tell how much they really care about their Rodanthe home and the comfort of the guests who stay. 3 "

"The property was beautiful and relaxing. There was access to anything we needed. The elevator was perfect for supporting our needs. The grand kids loved both the ocean and the pool. This was a perfect getaway!"

"My family loved this property! We spent most of our time lounging in and around the pool. We had family coming and going throughout our week, with up to 10 at one point, but never felt cramped. The huge dock area was good for our 21' boat and two jetskis (plenty of trailer parking space too). The downstairs ice machine, extra fridge and bait freezer were great additions. Tons of outdoor seating for early morning coffee, afternoon drinks and evening gatherings. Early and late in the day, mosquitos were an issue, but there is a screened area for seating. The house was comfy and adequately stocked. Bring extra pool towels if you have a large group; we kept the washer/dryer busy. The location is super convenient to grocery and restaurants. We walked to La Isla Taco Grill one evening. We also drove to Irie Island Eats which was my favorite meal during our visit. -- Only two minor negatives. First, the AC struggles to keep up and it was a little to temperate for some of our group (I was fine). Second, the canal (while very convenient to the open water) was pretty stagnant and lifeless. Getting our boat in and out was challenging at low tide, but doable once we figured out the route. Not sure if it's a timing thing, but we had a lot of trouble with the jetskis due to the amount of sargassum weed and shallow water in the channel. We ended up towing the skis out to cleaner/deeper water to avoid clogging the jets. All in all, we had a magical time at the property!!! "

"Overall no complaints, easy sound and beach access. Love being able to see both from the incredible decks. The pool was perfect after an afternoon on the beach or a soak in the hot tub. Rooms are spacious, beds are cozy and shower pressure and temp was great. Ample parking and space out front. Beach toys and kayaks and everything included were great to have as well as access to the pickleball / tennis court. Only complaint was one of the beds in the bunk bed room was filled with potato chips on arrival but nothing we couldn't take care of on our own. Would stay here again for another great family vacation. "

"Rooms are very nice. Like a studio apartment setup. Cozy and spacious. Beach is a very short walk away. Have plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby. Definitely going again in the future. "
