The Sheppey Inn is quirky and I should imagine that when it first opened it was quite novel. However, now it is looking a bit tired, the stairs carpet need a good clean, I do understand that it is a walking area but the first 4-5 steps are grubby. The room could also use a deep clean, for example the TV screen was smeary, vase was dusty/dirty and the cotton wool container was the same. The breakfast was a bit lacklustre and definitely not continental, couple of boxed mueslis, yoghurt and fruit (banana and apple's). If a breakfast can't be served then maybe offer some pastries. The room could also do with a few items to make it a bit easier to stay, hooks for coats, and towels in the bathroom. Chest of drawers for pants / socks etc.
The bed was lovely and comfortable and the balcony was lovely in the morning. The surrounding countryside beautiful.
