"Just a quick one night break but we had a great time - our room was large with a lovely sea view and a very comfortable bed. A very short walk to the beach for a stunning sunset. There was an issue with the gas supply so the menu was limited but all the food we had for dinner and breakfast was excellent and the cellar bar with log-burner really cosy (Inches cider on draft). Fresh milk in a fridge on the landing was a great idea for making nice tea! The manager Millie was fantastic dealing with the issues and we are already planning to return later in the year when we can sit out on the garden terrace to enjoy the views!"

"On traditionally bleak winters day in south west Dorset this hotel was warm and welcoming, spacious and well presented rooms. Breakfast was well cooked and served promptly. A strong 9/10 because although you should never judge a book by the cover, this hotel lets it self down with it's exterior presentation"

"Excellent place to stay for piece & quite. Good size bedroom, comfortable bed, bath & shower. Very good breakfast, lots of choice. We had the valentines evening meal, which was exceptional. Staff really friendly, as were the owners. We have stayed here before and definitely will be again. "

"Arrived in the dark on a bitterly cold misty February night. Despite the fact that Steve had only just got out of hospital after a hip operation and clearly in pain, he did everything possible to make me welcome and comfortable. Rooms recently completely refurbished, well-pointed and warm. Great land scaping projects in the garden ready for the summer to make wonderful sitting out areas. The quintessentially simple cosy affordable Dorset Inn, log fire. stone floor simple decor, gumboots and pub labrador. Perfection."
